I thought Campbell would thrive playing along with these new signings, let's hope yesterday was an off day, like most of them had. He was just as embarrassing against Rotherham Tuesday and. They were shit

When we beat Huddersfield away 5-2 in 2020 he was excellent along side fletcher.
Then he got injured and after that weve only seen occasional glimpses of his skill set.
Shame really as its almost as if hes lost confidence or belief in himself, and the longer it goes on the more frustrating he becomes to watch.

I've always had massive hopes for him...looked a natural finisher for the under 23's and scored goals for fun..he's showed glimpses since then but nowhere near enough imo, his injury might have derailed him for a bit but I don't think we can use that excuse for him anymore...his general demeanor and how he just strolls around the pitch makes me think that he thinks he's much better than he is..he's unbelievably predictable on the wing.

Gooch at one point almost stopped asking him to run down the line. He doesn't seem to know when and where to run. Very disappointing needs a spell in the reserves.

Yes it was so obvious, 'work ethic'seems to be lacking in his make- up. Combine that with little footballing 'nous' and you get Campbell.

He reminds me of Ince these days. We need better. One thing he has as an excuse is that playing him on the left isn't helping him. His MO has always been to play on the right, cut inside, and shoot with his left foot.
OS.

I much prefer him on the right or through the middle, definitely not on the left but I suppose Neils hands were tied a bit yesterday with us being without Vidigal and Haksabanovic, I just think he's going through the motions a bit..needs a kick up the arse.

It would help if he didn’t stutter and stop all the time completely slowing down and negating the attacks.
His final ball (either shot or pass) is ithe wrong choice about 75% of the time.
Should be doing much better at this point from a football brain perspective.
I realize he’s coming back from injury but his decision making never seems to improve

Lack of quality, I think when most players have gelled and we have a front 3 he’s gonna have to perform better to get a place.
He kept hitting his first man, everytime he tried to get the cross in, gets blocked. It’s just lack of quality.
He stopped a chance going in when lying on the floor and it his his head. Not sure if DJ did that on purpose tho 😂
He’s a frustrating player Campbell.

He can only play on the right because he’s no left winger and he can’t play center forward because he conna ‘ed the bo’. He is only effective on the right where he can cut in a shoot. The opposition all know this (apparently Neal doesn’t), which makes him easy to defend. It’s either Campbell or Leris because we can’t have both unless Leris can play a different position.

Nowhere near good enough to be starting regularly in a team with promotion aspirations.
Can't run, can't head, very little skill and no physical presence at all.
He's got a great shot at times and that's about it.
Would gladly see him move on.

My defence of Campbell isn't that he's some wonderful player who never has a bad game, it's more the him being held to far higher standards than anybody else. He could never kick a ball in the Premier League, play 300 games for us and that... that would be ok?
This 'he doesn't give a fuck' stuff, he gives as much of a fuck as basically nearly everyone in our squad does. Maybe it's just a job? And imo he does more to earn his wage than many we've had in the past few years.
Like yesterday, he wasn't great at all but still on some metrics was our leading performer. End product was the issue yesterday. There are people near me at games who abuse him endlessly, same people have let shite footballers get away with near-enough murder over the past few years.
I've seen people say we should sell him, Wilmot & Laurent in the space of 24 hours... not sure who to since they're apparently awful players with a terrible attitude.

I'm afraid Campbell is another one, like Ince, where daddy bulls them up that they are superstars and should be playing at a much higher level. The poster who suggested Campbell needs to get back to the training ground and work on the basics has it spot on. He shouldn't be anywhere near the starting eleven on current form and mindset. And daddy needs to tell it how it is and not what he would like it to be.

You seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder about his dad, but it’s not his fault his dad is a high profile ex footballer is it? And whatever his dad has come out and said, I’ve never seen or heard anything negative about Ty’s attitude in the time he’s been here. Are you mad because your dad didn’t do it for you or what is it because it doesn’t seem to be based on anything in the real world.

Yesterday's game didn't suit him.
The defence and midfield moved the ball slowly, allowing Preston to set up in shape with a low block. It meant we had loads of the ball and did sweet FA with it - standard against this kind of team.
By the time it got to Campbell he had no space to take their full back on. He needs space to use his speed to take them on as he isn't an agile dribbler.
In yesterday's game he should have moved straight to right forward if he was going to receive the ball in a slow build up way. That or the midfield needed to get the ball off the backline much faster then get it forward faster still.
He was poorly supported from Stevens too which made it easier to keep him in check.
The game showed what we are currently, a team of players who don't know how to get the best out of each other.
We need that understanding or it's pointless having better players than most teams in the league.

In fact, he’s deadly when we’ve played like that. He was also good with Powell who was smart enough and creative enough to make space for him through his own movement or passing. The way we played into Preston’s hands yesterday made the front 3 look very ordinary but we could have had Mbappe up top and I doubt he’d have had a kick

No chip, just don't like how famous dad's continually bull up their not so good sons into something they are not. It doesn't help. For what it's worth I would have cashed in on Campbell when his stock was much higher than it currently is. You stick to your opinions, I'll stick to mine. And for the record I didn't mention anything about attitude but please feel free to make it up if it suits your agenda.
