Sad but this daft creation of a singing section by the away has clearly attracted some supporters with a lack of brain cells. It's also taken away the atmosphere from the ground that stemmed from the boothen Was always going to happen though especially with the new corner Boothen has been on its arse for years! Thank goodness for the south stand atmosphere Block 19 and ira songs wrecked the boothen. And in time it'll wreck the south stand.

That's not the answer is it, it's not right to throw anything, lets just stop selling beer maybe that's a better answer than putting up a net Probably the best idea tbh. Over priced piss that people neck in 5 minutes for some reason. I like a beer as much as the next man/woman but I’ve never drank inside the ground, it’s just a mither and totally underwhelming My Guinness was ok today 👍

Just put a net up. Very simple to do. Back the days at ninian park.... Wouldn't stop the numbskull who threw the bottle today. 100% wasnt aiming for Watford fans as they were a mile away. Hit some older guy who didn't seem too impressed.

Good point. We still have an undercurrent element who want to take the the club bag 25 years. Sadly they would rather spend time being dickish instead of directing there angst at the shite officiating today.

Stopping selling beer would punish the thousands of fans that enjoy a beer at the game without being a prick, as well as put a big dent in matchday revenue. Putting a net up would hurt nobody and solve the problem. What a strange answer just trying to work out how your brain works,if a net was put up the idiot would buy another beer bottle and throw it where there wasn't a net,so how many nets shall we put up, the real answer is to throw out the idiot and hopefully not into a net and any idiots who think its okay to throw anything

I am surprised that someone would pay over the odds for a beer in the ground and then waste half of it by lobbing it away ... That's what happens when people with a shoe size higher than their IQ are allowed money. Same as the morons who spend money on something to shove up their nose in the toilets every matchday Crayons?

Why do they keep singing about the IRA? I thought it was a beer song, "... Sup the ale and the IPA".

Why do they keep singing about the IRA? It's about as much as they can spell. Just like the actual IRA who are from the Stone Age ( well they are always throwing stones).

Why do they keep singing about the IRA? Why do they keep singing about Kenwyne Jones? I love the atmosphere in the stand, but some of the chants are stale & repetitive (Steve Bruce, IRA). The ref to Luton (you are just a sh!t Luton Town) was awful yesterday. Plus the classic you can shove your Hornets up your a$$ lol 😆

I thought you were seriously advocating for the banning of beer sales rather than using that suggestion to point out that treating the cause is better than treating the symptoms. In an ideal world I agree with you, I do think the infantilisation of football fans causes more trouble in the long run. If you tell people they can’t be trusted to behave they’re more likely to not behave.

Good songs, good times. If you listen to when man utd are away from home and are winning they go through the whole song sheet. Certainly beats goarn stoke goarn stoke. Kenwyn, odemwingie, muniesa, Robert huth. Brilliant.

Sad but this daft creation of a singing section by the away has clearly attracted some supporters with a lack of brain cells. It's also taken away the atmosphere from the ground that stemmed from the boothen Was always going to happen though especially with the new corner It's the eternal problem with all seater stadiums. There's no movement of fans and refreshing of the generations as time goes on. When we first moved to the ground, the Boothen End was populated by the noisiest fans who used to stand on the old Boothen End. Generally the youngest and/or most boisterous and most willing to stand and sing. But as time has gone by everyone has aged significantly and people are older, don't drink as much and are more likely to sit quietly with a tartan flask than start Delilah. But with the way that all seater stadiums work and the high number of season ticket holders basically block booking all the best seats, it's very difficult for the next generation of fans to get into the Boothen and gather together. So they go into the South stand and corner where there are far less established season ticket holders and it's easier to get seats together with your mates. In the days of terracing at the old Boothen End the generations constantly refreshed. Young, energetic fans could easily get in and stand together without being blocked by existing, longstanding season ticket holders. And there was a natural filtering of the generations as older fans who were finding standing harder work or who wanted a less boisterous experience would either move to the front of the Boothen where it was quieter. Or move out completely into one of the seated stands. With new, young fans coming in behind to replace them. This generational filtering hasn't happened at the new ground. People who were in their teens in 1997 are now in their 40s. People in their 20s are now in or around their 50s, people in their 30s are now in or around their 60s etc. Reserved seats encourages you to stay where you are to stay with your family and friends so they're still sitting in the same places as they did 20 plus years ago. And with no natural incentives to move on as there was in the past with the effect of aging on your ability to stand for long periods, people have just stayed put and blocked the next generations of youngsters from moving in and keeping the atmosphere going. So they have to squeeze in wherever they can. Currently the South Stand and new corner are the cheapest and easiest place to get in because there are few longstanding season ticket holders so that's currently the place to go if you're a group of young lads wanting to gather together and sing. 10-15 years ago it was block 19. The only way to fix it would be to turn to Boothen End into a proper, unrestricted terrace (not safe standing because it's not unreserved so it still contains many of the same problems that plague all seaters). But that'll never happen because it's not legal, and even if it was in the future there would be too many complaints from set in their ways longstanding season ticket holders who like where they sit and don't want to move or stand.

Excellent points. They seem to manage to keep generations of fans together in places like Germany where singing sections are a must. However they do it we should follow suit. The boothen is like a scene from cocoon.

Why do they keep singing about the IRA? Exactly this mate. How do our Irish players feel hearing this when they have potentially grown up with it and potentially had family members caught up in the troubles. You would have to have a brain to think like that though and sadly the people singing it do not.

They know they can't sing racist songs 'town full of P words' and stuff like that because they'd get arrested and banned etc and there'd be a national media storm. So singing about the IRA is getting out the desire to sing hate filled, controversial songs but about a subject that they know won't attract any negative consequences for them.

It's also making the stewards a real pain in the arse to deal with as well.
They were trying to check every person's ticket in Block 38 before the second half. It caused a massive queue into the concourse which in the end people just barged through and ignored the stewards and police.
It's getting worse and they'll be a major kick off soon.

It's a song to sing when the trapdoor's opening, not every bloody game.
