Championship is crap. Being solid defensively, not being bullied and having 1/2 match winners is the order of the day. I thought we were more than okay today. Watford banked on athletic ability above technical. Solid is pushing it a bit. Travers was the busier keeper and the only bad defender on show was at right back for us. We did nowt and won. That’s great. But I’m not going to pretend I enjoyed watching it. Two crap teams slogging it out and a ref that didn’t understand the rules. I'm not massively disagreeing. But, scrubby as fuck at home wins (this was more than that) are needed. No one really waltzes through this league, Burnley arguably last year and then I'd say Castle before that. We've changed 14 players and reversed a 4-0 loss to a 1-0 win, maybe more on who they have sold but I'm taking it is a positive today. Mcnally was a big big plus today.

It's not mindless. Hes wrong. Reasons above. We were shit at home for over two seasons. Won 3 on the spin. Having a mindless pop at a home win is attention-seeking It's mindless when I've seen opinions that are arguably against the grain after a home win and they aren't getting called "tubbs" and "not a fan". What's happened in the last two years is an irrelevance in the context of rating the players based on todays game (but I do get what you're saying). He's wrong in your opinion which you're as entitled to just as much as Bayern and everyone else. I don't think he's attention seeking either, he's just posting his opinions on a messageboard and people reply to him so he replies back. Yeah I see what your saying, i just dont see how you rate that as a negative today without thinking of previous. He is Tubbs as someone said he is a tubbs on another thread didn't mean it as a negative. I have lots of lovely tubby mates haha.

Bursik 100% and Bonham potentially would have conceded today. Kicking was poor, suspect that's why he is with us and not playing in the PL.

Blustery, swirling day and not one where you can play forwards easily other than short balls. That is what made the game descend into a slog. They looked crisper in passing and moving, but we looked generally more dangerous on the break. All in all a great one to come out on the right side for once.

We kept our focus and shape well and protected the lead well! Would have drawn that last season.

Travers - Good save towards the end, not much else to do (6) Rose - Another pretty steady job (6) McNally - Thought he was excellent (8) Wilmot - More misplaced passing but more than made up for it (7) Hoever - Quiet game and a bit sloppy at times (5) Stevens - Not great (5) Thompson - Some decent cover work but can’t pass (6) Laurent - Not good again but better than last week (5) Johnson - Tries to create at least but not much coming off at the moment (6) Vidigal - Buzzed about and a superb finish (7) Wesley - Did ok I thought, lacking sharpness (6) Tymon - Couple of dangerous crosses (6) Chiquinho - Very raw (5) Mmaee - Needs something to drop, looked lively (6) For a player who can't pass Thompson passed the ball well today, forward passes too 90% accuracy!

Travers 7 MOM Hoever 5 Wilmot 6 McNally 7 Rose 6 Stevens 7 Thompson 6 Laurent 4 Johnson 5 Wesley 5 Vidigal 6 4 is extremely harsh. I thought Laurent had a good game. Covered Hoever’s defensive deficiencies all match.

Some of the marks for players on this thread are laughable We’ve just beat a decent side in a good game and folk are scoring players 5’s🤣I’m sure some don’t watch the games We were rubbish first half, most improved after the break. 5 is average, what’s wrong with that? I thought we were better in the first half than the second, but for me 5 is an average score too.

Anyone who gives Stevens and Thompson anything less than 8 each for that game needs to re-evaluate their football knowledge......
They were both brilliant.

By and large I have been quite impressed with Stevens, his unhurried calmness on the ball and ability to pick out a pass is excellent.
