Yesterday driving through the dreadful new town of Sherford (it really is fucking horrid and you’ll know what I mean if you’ve had the misfortune to drive through it) I was following a woman driving, you’ve guessed it, a BMW. As she negotiated a right turn into one of the many narrow roads of this awful town, a small construction vehicle appeared coming towards her and as there was no room for passing, like most of Sherford, she stopped and reversed to let the construction vehicle out. All good so far but it became obvious that she wasn’t aware of me and a line of cars behind her, so I tooted my horn to warn her at which point she did stop a few centimetres from my front bumper, rolled down her window and giving me the wanker gesture screamed "can’t you see I’m fucking reversing?". Well yes madam I can that’s why I warned you of vehicles behind you. Her car was full of screaming kids in the back, who a couple gave me the Vee sign, and presumably another mum in front seat. I tell my dad my stereotypical thoughts on bmw drivers and he gets all defensive because he used to drive one. But it’s genuinely true. If ever there’s a narrow part of road due to resident parking on one side, but clearly big enough for 2 cars to comfortably get through providing the car on the non parking side drives relatively close to the curb; it’s always cunting fucking bmw twats driving so far from the curb that it’s impossible for you to go safely. The pricks think they own the road. They also think that one motorway lane is exclusively theirs😂😂 My daughter drives a bmw and is an ex police driver but she too gets defensive about them. But I just wonder why it appears that bmw drivers are so aggressive or is it just stereotyping?

I don’t do it. In Stoke, I remember a group of youths getting out the car and one pulling a knife on my Dad for it. In the US, I’ve heard friends recall stories of guns being waved at them. I don’t see the need to risk it. You never know what asshole is in the other car. It’s almost never worth the risk I agree. But sometimes it’s hard to be restrained, especially if a driver is aggressive/abusive when I am cycling. One option I sometimes use is to blow them a kiss. Drives them absolutely nuts.

Recall years ago two knobs in a van driving on my side of the road as cars were parked on their side of the road, they wouldn’t reverse and started laughing then f’ing at me, admittedly I lost my rag and I flew at them, the tossers locked their doors so I opened the rear van doors and ran in the van, they both got out and ran off taking the keys so I was knackered all round as I couldn’t get past their van 😡 I drive a BMW so yes stereotyping

i just mutter indignantly under my breath. in Stoke i'd be worried about local hoodlums, in Los Angeles i worry about someone getting out with a gun. in fact i've only just read a road rage encounter here that ended with some wanker getting out of his car, smashing this guy's window in and punching him. the nutters out here are different breeds.

I love doing a sarcastic clap in the direction of the perpetrator with a casual worded insult of 'Well Done Knobhead'!! It's amazing how a gentle sarcastic clap in someone's direction really riles em up!

I read someone suggesting that a lot of BMW drivers are wannabee upwardly mobile achievers and have often gone into debt just to display a successful image, they then have to work harder than most just to pay it off, and therefore are always in a massive hurry and consequently drive aggressively. They are resentful of both people who drive cheaper makes but have less debt and stress, and people who drive more impressive makes that they can't stretch too, so they're angry with everyone.

Would make sense but I could say that about a lot of modern society

I was once driving an artic down the Holloway Road in London. I was in a line of traffic when a 7 ton 4 wheeler tried to pass me and had to cut in front of me to get back in line. I had to brake hard to stop hitting him and was fuming. I gave him a few loud blasts on my horn. The traffic stopped so I jumped out to curse the bastard for such stupid driving. Just as I got out, he did too. I couldn't believe my eyes. He was about six feet four tall and built like an eighteen stone brick shithouse while I was just 11 stone and five/eight, and not built like a brick shithouse. As he came towards me I grabbed the lapels of his shirt but he just kept on walking and pinned me up against the front of my cab. He was grinning and said, "Sorry mate but I'm in a hurry." Realising I was not going to win this battle made me laugh and I said "This will learn me to pick my battles". He laughed, patted me on my shoulder, winked, and then got back in his cab. I learned a valuable lesson that day... although my truck and trailer was about was about four times bigger than his vehicle, it's not the size of the truck that counts. OS.

My Dad had a dispute in traffic with someone near the Finney Gardens pub, the cowardly prick he had the row with hit him, a 60 odd year old man, before he had chance to get out of the car then fucked off sharpish.
Police were called, tons of witnesses, the only snag is the ever efficient CPS neglected to inform my Dad of the date that the case was being heard so, quite understandably, he wasn't there and the case got dismissed.
I imagine the fella got his just desserts, the old man was quite well connected with some of the 'less savoury' characters knocking around at the time 🙂
