Meh, who cares? He’s gone now. He was one of the only players who we had that was comfortably among the better players of their position in the league. After the Lerma tackle, he was always injured. Since the Lerma tackle, we’ve had massive creative deficiencies in midfield.

The ignorance of the mob as opposed to the wisdom of the crowd. You would hope that the recent Dele Ali interview would lead to a lot of people being more hesitant to jump to conclusions. You never truly know what’s going on. Also there’s a cruel irony that athletes only have a short window in their life to realise their true sporting potential; and that window comes at a time in life where maturity is lower than it’ll be at any other point in their adult lives. It’s why the story of wasted potential in sport is so common. By the time many people mature enough to become conscientious; that short window to become a great sportsperson has long since passed. Yes all very true. The fact sport requires it's athletes to have an old head on what are often very young shoulders certainly damages many of it's participants Ali's story , whilst potentially salutary, certainly will not prevent people from jumping to conclusions, that's for sure, unfortunately, particularly when huge amounts of money and fame are involved. The entire tabloid newspaper industry is devoted to feeding the nasty frenzy that develops around ignorance and hearsay. The suspicions of the tittle-tattlers and the haters are easily fed and the scapegoat mentality is strongly established in the collective subconscious of humanity it seems to me.

He was good for us in his peak, which feels like it lasted about 4 weeks, total.
He actually did quite well to get so many Stoke fans on his side, given the very little he actually delivered for us. One of those players, whose reputation goes before him.

I have no sympathy for anyone giving him a contract. Waste of a squad number. He’s a tired Fucker with limited interest in playing Football. I suggest you read the article. He admits his part in his lack of a 'successful' career and says he would be different if he could go back. Which of us don't say that at times? He is the first footballer who I think is a normal person who I would probably get on with. He hates the show that goes with football and the way most footballers behave, not the sport. Aren't most of us like that too? And in the end he seems totally at peace with himself. So we both agree with then. He has limited interest in Football.

It's the same for plenty of footballers.

A very important cog at Stoke City, along with Michael O'Neill, who both played their parts in stopping us dropping to League One and also riding the FFP tightrope, which has seen us through to the brighter days of this summer and hopefully beyond.
Both get abuse on here and both don't deserve it.

Very true As of yet we haven't improved on the pitch either, results wise We've had the ...not his team phase, let's hope the ...let's give the new players time to gel phase isn't as long .
