Tymon has all the attributes to be a very good attacking lb but I'm still not convinced defensively and I'm not sure Alex Neil is.
I wouldn't be surprised either way if Tymon starts as first choice lb or he leaves and we bring in a new first choice. I'm pretty sure Stevens is only seen as cover either way.

We are a Cranson/Overson/Shtaniuk type signing away from making this an interesting season.

It doesn't matter how good our attacking options look, with this defence we'd get nowhere.
At the moment there's no depth (Hoever is our only RB) while Taylor is our one back-up CB, and there's a worrying lack of physical presence in there as well. The LB options are both a concern too.
We really need a dominant CB, a starter LB and a decent back-up RB as a minimum.

If we could bring in a more experienced (25-28 year old) central defender who is dominant in the air but not ridiculously slow, I think that a lot of the issues would go away.
I think that our left back options are good enough for this league. We need at least one centre back (two if Taylor goes).
If the guy from Colchester isn’t coming and Macari isn’t going to be given a chance, then that’s someone else we need to get as well.

It is worse than last year, if that is possible in terms of quality/quantity:
At the moment we have 2 viable central defenders in the squad when most teams/squads have 5 or 6 - now less than a week to kick-off. Zero players in the team that can defend a cross or a decent header of the ball.
We need a big commanding CB, and better quality/quantity across the whole defensive line.
Doesn't really matter what is happening in front of that defence, you cant build a house on quick sand.
In the last window the club moved on 2 of the 3 viable central defenders we had in the squad - effectively just leaving Wilmott and a 40+ year-old to play every game in the second half of the season and both ended up injured - suicidal in my opinion - It was my biggest worry going into the window that once again the defence would be neglected - given what has gone on before - and nothing has happened to alleviate that worry so far

We defended ok today but the late goal demonstrated our lack of strength in the air and organisational ability. We looked like we had 4 statues when the scorer stole in.

There's still 4 weeks to go until the window shuts.. be patient, trust AN and the new look transfer team. The team will get new centre backs. The squad will have better balance than the last 5 years.. keep the faith.

For all the apparently glam signings I still predict Jacob Brown will finish as our top scorer with about 10 goals.

Don’t get the hate for Tymon tbh. I think he’s improved massively defensively and if we are playing with attacking full backs this season, which looks like the plan, he’s a sure starter. I think he can rediscover some of his best form with some more fluid attacking players around him. Defo hope you're right mate. I like Tymon's venomous crossing and energy, and think he's got better at LB but worried he's still too vulnerable. Think you can afford one attacking fullback so if Hoever is in the side then that looks a big risk.

Plenty of time before the end of the window and I hope your prediction is correct. Let centre-back watch begin

I think in an ideal world Wilmot and Rose are competing for one CB spot.
Who are the candidates for an aerially dominant CB?
Cresswell, Trusty? Any others?
Gone very quiet on the Turkish lad. Was there ever anything in it?
