Picture fails to show what the Guv’nor’s drinking? I recon it’s a pint of Crème de Menthe. Looks more like a 'pint of heavy' kind of jock to me.

Turns up in a pub for a few PR snaps and he’s the new messiah! I’m excited for the new season but quick reminder we were absolutely gash last year 👍🏻 He didn’t have to do it, and I for one think it’s a great move to get the fans on board. Skullduggery or not is it not refreshing to see fan engagement? I know mate I was on the wind up. It would have been better if the cameras weren’t there though.

Beautiful housing around that pub. And the pub itself has that great outdoor veranda to have a beer under.

Any fucker can turn up at a pub but that doesn't then make him the new messiah. It's certainly a nice touch on his part and fair play to him for taking the time out to do it but in terms of the season that lies before us, currently it actually means relatively little.

I didn’t say he was the messiah, it’s good that they are mingling with the fans that’s all and it’s a refreshing take. Why do people have to have a downer on it. It’s positive🤷🏻♂️ I actually find it a little depressing that people would respond negatively to to be honest. It’s a bit of fun and certainly a step up from what we’ve endured since we’ve been in the championship re fan interaction

Alex Neil and Co ….. take a bow, it’s absolutely brilliant to see such supporter engagement! Not since our very own Lou have I seen such real feelings for our club and community. All the very best for this campaign Alex… WE WILL BE WITH YOU, EVERY STEP ALONG THE WAY!!!! I agree with your comments but I believe you have forgotten Mr Pulis he was and still as feelings for the community he did great things for local charities so he must not be forgotten

Hopefully it's going to be a great season but literally, anybody could have done what he's done tonight, let's not go overboard about it.

They may have just fancied a pint and work nearby and it’s a great pub (1).
If they’re looking to connect to our city then it’s straight out of TP’s playbook of a building a club from the ground/ruins up (2).
What’s not to like, grinding cynicism aside?

Fair play to him.
They understand the power the fans have had with home performances in the initial premier League years and the last few turgid years.
As fans we need to be connected more and more with the club, doing this just helps a newly constructed team to have more time without being jumped on.
They really need to keep this up as it can really help too create the right matchday environment for the players to thrive in.

Hopefully it's going to be a great season but literally, anybody could have done what he's done tonight, let's not go overboard about it. You’re right, any manager in football has the capacity to rock up at the pub and spend some time with the fans. The simple fact of the matter is, they don’t. This is nothing to do with results, performances or points on the board. This is about our club and our club manager trying to bring the fans closer to the club they love and making them a part of it. As far as AN’s job and creating a true relationship with the fans is concerned, of course it will come down to results. That’s the cynical way of looking at it. Football is about more than score lines and results. It’s a sport that unites people all over the world, brings local and international people together. The fact that our club and current manager are making every effort to make this a club that engages with the fan base is definitely something to be proud of. Why can’t we just enjoy some of our off the pitch wins whilst it’s pre-season? Like the fan engagement, the recruitment strategy and the exciting signings, the media we’re putting out on our social platforms. Football is about entertainment and it’s a hell of a lot deeper than what happens at 3 o’clock on a Saturday for a lot of people.

The manager going the pub for a politicians photo opp to hoodwink gullible people is nice I guess but so transparent and as has been mentioned means fuck all if he can’t win games.

I actually think the signings are looking positive and starting and could well be good. But this is opportunistic nonsense.

If you can’t have a little bit of positivity and optimism when we’re facing into a season with loads of new signings and a manager who has proved himself at this level then you might as well give up.
