I’m not convinced he’s finished, like yesterday, when you have the likes of Tymon passing back and a transparent midfield and and feeding on no service, your never going score. The midfield is the issue.

He's been pretty terrible all season, yesterday before putting a bet on I actually checked the team sheet, Gayle playing was the reason I didn't bother, I've finally learned!
It's like playing with ten men week in, week out, absolutely baffling how anyone thinks he can still do a job at this level, he struggles to walk ffs.
He has to be the player caught offside most per minutes spent on the pitch in the whole division if not all 4.

Sums this club up entirely wanted him years ago so we signed an outdated version on ridiculous money, same can be said for AN to a certain extent.

Out of the contracted players, we desperately need to try and get rid of Gayle and Tymon. Surely we can flog Tymon to another Championship side for £500k or so? Gayle will be much more difficult because he’s on huge wages and there’s not much hope of another side actually wanting him. Gayle and Tymon was absolutely and utterly shite today. Gayle has an excuse he’s shot, Tymon was just pathetic today and I couldn’t understand how he stayed on the pitch At no point yesterday did Tymon go past an opposition player, not once, however he did manage to completely move away from their player who scored for them. Along with Gayle yesterday that’s one of the worst performances I’ve ever witnessed, utter crap and AN leaving him in was beyond belief. Firmly of the opinion we’ll be in for a horrendous season with AN still here, I’d seriously be talking to Potter at some point today if I was the idiot son.

Still can’t answer the questions posed. He’s the least of our worries at the moment, don’t be blinkered. We’ve a massive two windows coming up that will shape the future of the club for years. Obscurity or tangible Progress. What are you hoping for, out of interest? A pay slip? A photocopy of his bank statement? It’s been reported in numerous national and independent media outlets that he’s on 60k a week, of which Stoke pay one third. Dwight Gayle has never denied this, none of his representatives have denied this, his mum and dad have not denied this, Stoke haven’t denied this, Newcastle haven’t denied this, Howard Gayle hasn’t denied it, Marcus Gayle hasn’t denied it, Gail from Coronation Street hasn’t denied it, as far as I can see the only person who doesn’t think it’s true is owdestokie2 from the Oatcake messageboard. The irony of your last point says it all. Only read the Oatcake message board for “factual” comment

Still maintain he didn’t start off badly and his link up play was good and looked lively, he just didn’t look like scoring. Now he just looks completely out of his depth and pretty much finished to me.

I'm trying to think of a more disappointing signing over the last few years. Clearly Wimmer and Berahino spring to mind but he is definitely up there
Berahino Wimmer Gayle Ince Afobe NDaiye Vokes
I realise Gayle was free but still on fantastic money and high stock

Remember all the GuArANtees GOals at This LeVeL posts? Was always going to be a shit signing, this one. That used to be true, but he’s an ageing player in an altogether poor side which is poor at creating chances. His effort can’t be faulted for the most part* but he’s too old to try to do it all, he needed to adapt his game rather than chasing the ball like a dog with a balloon.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s been far from good, but we’ve not played a system where he has previously done well. He’s not a lone striker and nor is he going to win many headers, but we’ve played him like you would do Didier Drogba in his prime and he’s never been up for that role. Throw in his last great asset of pace which he’s now lost completely and it’s another classic Stoke signing of big name has been. When oh when are we going to learn?

He's gone from useful, good sometimes but no goals to fucking appalling understand why Powell is playing and understand we are stuck with Gayle but get him out on loan down a division, even if we get zero contribution of his wages just get rid anyway you can

Tymon is everything that’s wrong with club. A coward of a player who’s first instinct when receiving the ball is to turn and face his own goal and look for an easy sideways/backwards pass. Been here ages and is no better now than he was the day he walked through the door. His “efforts”today were an insult to the shirt. Spot on. Preferred to hide and take the easy option I can’t abide him as a footballer. Rarely takes his man on, can’t defend, never looks up and his crossing is shite. Absolutely boiled my piss today with that “effort”, should never ever play for us again At least Gayle has an excuse He got inexplicably wanked off for ages after that away 4-1 at Forest, where people were lauding him as the next Peter Beagrie, in reality, it was Gerry McMahon, on a rare good day. He really isn't what we need. I suspect Doughty, who didnt really get a look in here, is significantly better.

He had a break in the first half yesterday from inside his own half with the centre backs to take on in a foot race. It was like he was stuck in treacle.

He has never been useful for us. He had 3 or 4 good games Those useful games were never hammering goals in. He always dropped too deep to get involved or was totally isolated when he stuck to his position. Part of that is the service and making a proper transition from midfield to attack, but if you were to go out and sign one of 20 from the championship I'm willing to bet he wouldn't make anyone's list.

What way have you got in mind Grapey? It'd have to be a sizeable pay-off or a loan with a small contribution? But the mind boggles about who on earth would be interested. He's probably the only real albatross on the books, although the Baker new deal is starting to look a really bad idea (although I was sceptical at the time!) I was extremely sceptical at the time ! The bloke only played 12 decent games in his career.

Cannot be bothered to check the collective number of goals, but the much vaunted forward line at the start of the season didn’t turn out to be very productive: Campbell Brown Delap Gayle Well 2 of them won't be here come this August.

If there arent any other kids in the youth set up after Lowe and Tezgel , change the formation so he's not in the side .Failing that put a traffic cone in his place at least it will be a nuisance

I see you’ve not had an answer. That is because there has been no alternative since Lowe and Tezgel picked up injuries. We can’t rely on inexperienced kids though. When they’re doing bits in L1 and show the requisite promise for the Championship then give them a go, but I wouldn’t want us to destroy their confidence by relying on them like we did Delap. Remember how that one turned out.

WBA in 18/19 played a mix of 352 and 433, the same as us. You don't need to be good in the air to be a lone striker, and the only thing he has been able to do is be part of the press. Other than that, his movement is awful in the box, and his touch is crap too.
