It would seem our “Old Friends” the Met Police are feeling uneasy at the thought of the two Manchester teams descending into the capital and Wembley for this years final in June.
They are now attempting to change the KO time scheduled for 5:30 pm to an earlier time. What difference to security it would make I am not sure. It seems that a change could be difficult for the broadcasters ITV and the BBC. An earlier time would coincide with the Epsom Derby.
I may be old fashioned but for me the Cup Final Should always be at 3:00pm on a Saturday and televised on terrestrial TV and should never be changed.

I thought it was a 3pm kick off this year. Still technically TBC although its listed as 3pm and 5:30pm K/O's on various outlets. The FA Cup Final should always be a 3pm kick off on a Saturday. I know they pay vasts amount of money into the game but the TV companies shouldn't have such a say on how the most prestigious competition in football should be scheduled for its show-piece final. A 5:30pm Saturday kick off would just be carnage after after a full day's drinking by fans in the capital, not forgetting that these aren't just rivals for a big match, but near neighbours who really do dislike each other. Theres always the possibility of it going to extra time & penalties afterwards aswell so that creates the possibility that between 8:30pm - 9pm you'll have 70/80k+ Mancs leaving the same venue and the vast majority will be heading back north on trains and coaches. So aside from the security and policing issues at Wembley & in London itself, it also creates a nightmare for people like train staff aswell as with the amount of coaches that'll be piling into motorway services on the way north with all being potential flash points all the way through towards & past midnight, the understaffed folk working at these places would have an absolute nightmare. Just makes sense all round to revert to the traditional 3pm kick off time & the TV companies should just play ball.

Didnt they both play their semi at Wembley the same year we got to the final in 2011, cant recall trouble that day, there must have been others since as well
I dont see what the big deal is, lots of clubs travel down together without much going off, good policing should solve this

The day after the 2011 final I almost felt sorry for Man Citeh. The papers were full of ManU winning the league, Man City's first trophy since the 70s did not get that much publicity.

It's just not true, they come mainly from Ireland.

And think there was some trouble around wembley area, it certainly wasn't the relaxed environment of people enjoying the day like on our semi final day.

Although I didn't feel sorry for citeh I remember the Premier league played games on the same day as our final..so sky and motd certainly gave the league more attention than they gave the fa cup final.. They really did hate Stoke.. 😂😉

They played the Saturday, we were the Sunday game. I was at a Wedding on the Saturday and the best man was a Man City fan, he wasn’t overly enthused about being there. It’s also probably the only wedding I’ve been to in the last 20 years where I’ve not drank.

The fans should be uneasy about being policed by this group of flashers, rapists and thugs!

Wasn't it the first year ever the cup final had been played while the league season was still going on? I remember feeling a bit peeved about that, the attention on our big final was diluted by Prem fixtures. For the best in the end mind.

You can guarantee that either Network Rail will have Euston closed for engineering works or the last train home with Avanti will be around 7pm
Its the new FA Cup tradition

It's the same over here with the Buffalo Bills . . . which is why I am totally comfortable supporting them. It's just that like Stoke, they will never win anything. (Imagine being in the cup final 4 years in a row and losing each time!)

(Imagine being in the cup final 4 years in a row and losing each time!) The Bills need to wait their turn. (says Brown's fan ) I hope the cup final kick off is 3 pm and they tell ManU it's 5.30.
