Spurs turning up mentioned a lot! Reckon they had a score to settle having been battered and ran back to the station after that FAC replay in 1976? They certainly didn't enjoy their walk past the graveyard

They certainly didn't enjoy their walk past the graveyard And they came back to Stoke the following year with an older crew- numbering about 3,000 in total. They were a complete handful from start to finish. In the Boothen at the start, kicked the doors off the stoke End to get out at the end and met us coming up past the police station as they had cleared the grave yards and doubled back- the disturbance there made national news. Probably the best mob to show at Stoke in the late 70s. They tried to do this everywhere that year being the in the second division and stoke were one of the few clubs they didnt over run....they came terribly unstuck at Sunderland as the whole town turned out following poor behaviour at White Hart Lane the previous season....Spurs and West Ham Brought it to stoke ,Chelsea claimed they did in that decade but i never saw it.All the big clubs battered us down there- strange and violent decade
