Jack Clarke showed again that he is all strut, looks a good footballer, yet produces by and large any product. 9 goals and 6 assists isn’t that bad.

Really enjoyed Swansea away but today topped that.
Stokies really upped it and were loud and boisterous all game.
“Where’s your famous atmosphere…” 😆
Even the seagulls arrived in the last few minutes to shit on Sunderland
Great day

There are wankers who come on here and lose their shit after each defeat just like there are tossers who come on and crow after 5-1 wins as if that's the norm. Kipling's poem 'If' sums up the way I try to approach supporting Stoke. '......If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same......' We just need to get a grip and allow a little perspective into our sorry lives.

He’s getting better and better Quiet 1st half, superb 2nd half is how I saw it. Needs more performances like the 2nd half for me to completely change my opinion. He been excellent over the last last 10 or so games in the main, was excellent when he came on against Brighton too. I really hope we can sign him

Absolutely fantastic across the board today haha get in. Can’t say I can pick a player out who was poor, Smallbone and Campbell tremendous. Fingers crossed Gayle can start sticking a few away now at long last!!
Even more sweeter when them lot have been looking forward to this game ever since AN left and giving him shit, for us to go and stick 5 past them😂 fucking brilliant.

While it's a truly fabulous result it's the style and quality of performance that deserved recognition we looked infinitely better throughout we've produced real quality performances in fhe last two away games and despite my criticism the manager deserves greet credit for that Shame about wilmot whose been brilliant recently for me hopefully not serious Well done Mr Neil Hughes improvement and with three horrible games coming up this was absolutely key amd you've produced the performance and result of the season You like many others have failed to listen to AN. When he talks about performance he is judging the team against a plan. Read Tachyon and Potterlytics to see detailed stats on how the team is changing style so effectively. Against Brighton we played an aggressive 6v6 in their half and went 4v4 at the back. As I have posted before we have the best tactician in charge since Hughes, building his style of play with players recruited by others and, currently, with a lack of fit forwards. He also appears to have a better eye for a player than his predecessors. The plan to save our resources for next season looks a masterstroke. Clearly we need to improve against teams with a low block but Inhave every confidence we will Great post and so accurate. I like a gamble but very rarely on Stoke but I’ll be having a wager on Stoke next year to go up. This manager is in a different league tactically thank O’Niell and Rowett. The biggest difference next year is we will hopefully have players who can go past people and a decent forward who can link the play up which means we won’t struggle to break teams down at home

Just took a trip into the Sunderland message board what a bunch of morons
Gayle deserved to have bottles thrown at him is a highlight
Along with them arguing about fans who left after the third went in

Yeah if that office just had a wrecking ball go through it, then it was simultaneously struck by lightning and a surface to air missile.......

Because I have confidence in the manager’s tactics and recruitment. We don’t yet have the players to unpick a stubborn defence but we have the resources to get them over the summer. What is obvious is how AN is building steadily and flexibly. Brighton for me was a big step forward, going 4v4 at the back was brave but we coped well.

Some of it warranted and looking back, some of it harsh. I'll hold my hand up where needed and take any stick on the chin. Deep down regardless of our opinions we are united in one and that is the success of the club. That's what does or should drive us. We all get frustrated and we all lash out at times. If we can't enjoy a win like this without resorting to having a go at fellow fans it's time to pack in.

It was why he regularly got results none of us expected. Three 9th place finishes suggests he knew what he was doing. His downfall was he w decided to go 5 at the back rather than build a pressing side

Well stone the crows. Everything was right for once! Something we all knew that we had it in us but never quite did.
1. Players in best positions 2. Spot on tactics 3. Workrate based on positive intent 4. Taking our chances
That was THE performance. Now for making it happen far more often than not!

What a result today!! I'm in Lisboa so haven't been able to catch the game and was 1-0 at ht when I checked earlier. 5-1 though is huge!!! Braces for Campbell and gayle and a smallbone assist hat trick too!
Well played boys! A lot of happy stokies tonight I'm sure.
And well done Alex too!

You've only got to look on the Teamsheet thread to see what I mean. It's love or hate, shit or brilliant, there's rarely any in between. I don't agree with it but I can understand it.

His downfall was he w decided to go 5 at the back rather than build a pressing side It wasn't a dig, I loved Les and don't think he gets anywhere near enough credit, I just don't think he was that type of manager. He had a preferred system (which worked well) but it was more about getting good players in positions they liked, giving them the ball in training and encouraging them get on with it. The fact that the changes he tried to make were generally a bit of a disaster is proof of my point more than yours. His "tactical" subs often left a lot to be desired as well...

Well I finally made it back to Gateshead high st & all I can say is what a day… when we scored the 3rd there was an humongous bloke whom skittled 5 of us & knocked myself down 5 rows. What a day & what a result! Absolutely quality COYMP!!!

This thread is absolutely priceless Worth a read from Page 6 onwards again " Get Gayle off, he"s wank " We are in for a drubbing " Smallbone is rubbish etc etc etc, too many to write down
then from our 1st goal, big change, in posts, Smallbone is fantastic, Gayle playing well !!!! etc etc God there are some really pessimistic souls on this site

Well knock me down with a feather! I wasn't expecting that. I would have settled for a gritty 0-0 or 1-0 win any day. To go into that atmosphere and pull out that result shows that there is plenty of grit, determination and belief in the manager in the dressing room. I suspect even our dour Scotsman may allow himself a wee smile this evening. It has certainly made my weekend!
