He just wanted a bed bath from one of the nurses dirty old bugger Gouranga. His name was Steve π When you get a certain age you have to take what you can get. In fact, with my looks I've had to do that all my life

Managed to logon to the 'net for the first time since I was ill and because my daughter had told me about this thread, I had to have a look. Well, I'm truly humbled by all your kind comments. I really am and thank you all for them. In a way it was like reading my obituary, and not many get to do that. But I'm not too pleased that you didn't have a collection for me. It started with massive pains in my upper abdomen and I was vomiting up bowls of black and dark green bile and I was as yellow as Homer Simpson. My Daughter-in Law was nearest so I phoned her. She came to my house (we live 3 doors apart) and she came and took me to their house and I was there until son and daughter could get to me. They phoned 999 and an ambulance took me off to A&E where I was treated as a cat 1 patient. They filled me up with morphine and diagnosed a probable gall stone blockage, causing a backup of bile and rubbish into my pancreas and liver. To cut a very long story short, after a few days of anti-biotics and other treatment and after an MRI scan revealed the original diagnosis was the right one, and because I wanted to go home, they sorted me out with a load of drugs and my daughter came and carted me off home. I'm still feeling ill but I'm at home under the care of my wonderful family. So, I'll be fine now but I'm as weak as a kitten and having to eat foods that are nutricious but soft to make them edible. Loads of fluids too, and plenty of rest. Oh! But what happens when I get home? After a great victory at Swansea, I listened to the Stoke v Millwall game and wished I could have some more anti-nausea injections. Oh dear! Anyway, because it's worn me out posting this, I'll log off now and go back to my comfy chair with a bowl of carrot and coriander soup and nod off. I will write an opus magnum on my views on the NHS on the EE board when I'm feeling stronger. (The good, the bad, and the ugly that will be an eye-opener.) OS doffs flat cap to you all for your lovely sentiments. Take care now! x

They filled me up with morphine and diagnosed a probable gall stone blockage, causing a backup of bile and rubbish... ....a bowl of carrot and coriander soup.. Gall stones may have been the official diagnosis but written at the bottom of the notes was 'long suffering Stoke fan!' π Thayt needs a lobby injection, food processed obviously! π Good you're back wom! β€οΈ
