You can tell the man's a true SCFC manager, every time you think he's in freefall suddenly it's all ok again, ish. That was great, fought back, held on, kicked them about a bit (the Sal theory of top the Fouls stat every week, you'll always be top half is still true). Maybe we're getting nearer a best starting XI but the window will change that. But we were just really strong, 3 away points is never bad. (Still a dismal table to look at tho)
Wwell worth a 9 for me, add * if you were there please

9, not much he could do with the right back/wing back and made the right choice, got the sub right. Job done.

100 from me fuck the team selection fuck the performance fuck the tactics we came from behind and won, we won away and we beat a side who we've leap frogged in the league and avoided dropping into the relegation zone. Gouranga.

8 for me.
That first half was pretty dire.
However, whatever he said to them and/or changed at HT worked and there were little shithousey moments that were very Alex Neil at Preston like.

Not a great performance but overall his selection worked, the sub was the right one at the right time and the dark arts shithousing got us over the line.
For a team that’s been mentally as strong as a can of Skol for the last few seasons it’s good to see us dig in and turn deficits to points in the last couple of games if not much else. There was plenty of grit and bottle about that performance.
We still don’t look hugely cohesive and a team that was under MON designed for patient build-up play still doesn’t look confident being asked to move the ball quickly, but we worked hard and for each other and that’s something.

7.
Excellent result, coming back from a losing position but an absolute dogs dinner of a performance. Really have to be much better than that.
The bigger worry is the huge amount of work that is clearly required to get this squad full of players that this manager can use for his style of football.
It's yet another overhaul and rebuild.

Given the no RB option he had to play wing backs with either Brown or Fosu either of which were going to be targeted We didn't look sharp enough However the players worked their socks off which we don't always see, that comes from the manager so he gets credit for that Sub made sense

I was impressed with the players reaction after the second goal, 3 punched the air, which suggests they are united on the cause and behind the manager.

5* for the first half.. after a bright first 10 minutes we faded and handed them dominance.. the injury time goal was a massive boost though. 9* for the second half.. we came out with intent, made it count and then closed the game down effectively. He managed well today given our recent past.

A great away win. The heads didn't drop when Bristol scored and we managed to come from behind to win the match.

7 A great away win. The heads didn't drop when Bristol scored and we managed to come from behind to win the match. The only way you could say that was a "great" away win was if you didn't watch the match. We were as shit as we've been for a large chunk of the season. They were a bit more shit than we were. However, we did win away from home and it was a massive and most welcome 3 points, so I'll give him a 6.

'Great' could certainly be applied to an away win when desperately needed, against a team we subsequently leapfrogged, all rounded off by a win after falling behind in God knows how long.

But an away win is an away win, and it's especially important considering our poor home form. But: it was also great to see that we didn't implode after conceding a goal, but we managed to go out and actually win the match. It's now two matches in a row where we have been able to keep on fighting despite being one goal down. If you give him a 6 it's fine by me. I'll stick with the 7.

Came from behind to win a game. How many times have we done that? 3 points away from home when we bloody well needed them and I don't give a toss about much else. The lads gave their all and deserved the win and Neil didn't do much wrong for me. So I'll give him an 8.
OS.

7* I thought it was really the only viable line up. Swapped Delap at the right time as he looked close to a second yellow. Bonus points for getting across the message that we need to break up play and take a booking when necessary.

It wasn’t a happy scene on the concourse 2 minutes before half-time , but second half was an improvement and we killed the last 10 minutes with some much needed shithousing.
Overall 6

6. We won, but it seemed more because they sucked than we were good. That team/formation isn’t going to be very successful.
