Talking of co-commentators, I still struggle to fathom out how a loan player from 2007 who played a handful of games for Stoke in Gabriel Zakuani got a regular feature on Radio Stoke?! How insightful must he be of all things SCFC?! May as well have just had Lewis Buxton or Marlon Broomes from that era back joining him aswell!

Wasn’t the rumour that TP had him binned after he was critical of that performance at Liverpool? You mean the magnificent 0-0 draw that was one of our best ever league results at Anfield? No… the 3 or 4-0 midweek defeat just after Hodgson had gone. EDIT - I’ve seen it said it was 2-0. It felt like more. It was bloody depressing. Was it at that time where TP set his stall out to defend a record of not having lost by more than a 2 goal deficit or not conceded 3 in a game for x period of time?

Whilst considering our former players, I haven’t seen TC at Stoke for a few weeks. Hope he isn’t ill. He isn't ill, he's in good health and good spirit's all things considered. TC was relieved of his previous match day duties at the beginning of the season, the day before Millwall away to be precise. He believed he would be continuing his usual role but that wasn't the case so he's stepped away for the moment. He loves Stoke City and always will. He like Banksy and others made S-O-T his home. Pleased to hear he's in good health. Rather sad to hear that the club appear to have dispensed with his services though

Luis Suarez's Liverpool debut wasn't it? No wonder Tone shit himself.

So true. Pej and Smithy I count as my heroes for what they did for Stoke in the 70's but both are terrible commentators. Radio Stoke should only be using people who have played for Stoke in the more recent past and have a much better understanding of the modern game. Like the city- and club- as a whole, Radio Stoke is stuck in the past and needs dragging into the modern era When you've got an 80-odd year old commentating, with co commentators in their 70s you've got to question things.

Someone has just told me Pej was knocked off his bicycle on Christmas Eve in a hit and run incident.
Hope it’s not true and if it is, hope Pej is ok.

There’s been a lot change at the club I’ve been informed yesterday with alot of employees having to apply for their jobs.It was Josh’s last day yesterday apparently the ticket office manager That doesn’t account for not seeing him at games though even if his job has gone. TC has been sacked and is now at Crewe.

TC's not at Crewe as far as I'm aware apart from watching the odd match and attending academy matches where his grandson is involved. Not sure he was sacked as such, more like a change of role that he didn't accept.

TC has been sacked and is now at Crewe. TC's not at Crewe as far as I'm aware apart from watching the odd match and attending academy matches where his grandson is involved. Not sure he was sacked as such, more like a change of role that he didn't accept. I also heard he’d been offered something at Crewe. TC put heart and soul into the hospitality at the club, I seriously doubt anyone can make a better job. The old players from the teams of the 70’s 80’s 90’s etc, the ones who have chosen to stay in the locality do so because of their love not only the club but also the people and the area. These players are very well informed about the goings on at the club, they have extensive knowledge and know what it takes to be part of a winning team. The game hasn’t changed that much, yes you’ve got more back room staff, dieticians, specialists in this and that….but has the overall team improved? So many of the players struggle with 90minutes on the pitch. The bra thing they wear pings telling some boffin in mission control that young Bobby (fictional player example) Is knackered, so he’s subbed. Young Bobby is paid to train during the week, so that he can play for 90 minutes without blowing out of his ar*e . A lot of the older players are too polite to say some things on the radio maybe ? But to question their knowledge and how the game has changed is laughable. I have been to a lot of other grounds with dad on different occasions and what has always stood out to me is the walls of these clubs are covered in pictures and memories of the history of the club with pictures of club legends, the sense of pride they have in their club and players both old and new is wonderful. We seem to want to focus only on the current squad and manager, maybe if the players knew about some of the legends who have played at our club, they would get a better sense of pride pulling that red and white shirt on. A lot of the older players can tell stories going way back about not only our club legends but other legends they have played against. So let us embrace our history not try to forget it .
