Indeed, he must have some Asian ancestry somewhere Pretty sure I saw him in Hello Sailor bar in the Philippines, possibly visiting relatives. I was only there to ask directions away from the place can I point out POIDH

Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Laura Georges, Graeme Souness, Nigel de Jong are all decent, it’s interesting to hear from Mauricio Pochettino too although his English really isn’t up to the standard to be a pundit.
The majority of the BBC team are dreadful though, which is a real shame as I have a lot of time for the Beeb otherwise.

Thankfully the days of Lawrie McMenemy and Mick Channon are history. Julius Caesar and the boy Lin-acre Mick Channon's west country 'Gary Line Acre' was unforgettable! Channon's transition from sometime England footballer with mullet to welling boots and barbour coat equestrian man was nothing less than extraordinary He was massive with the horse racing. Was always disappointed his jockeys didn't do the arm windmill when they won

It was an extraordinary transition, dare I say unprecedented, did he get enough credit for it, I don't think so!?

The article is spot on it is absolutely awful. Mind you anything Fox put out usually is. It says a lot when Maurice Edu is star of the show. Thankfully I don't watch it very often thanks to my VPN. Has maurice managed to give a mention for his real first love...Stoke City?

The movement of Rio Ferdinand's mouth has absolutely nothing to do with the words he is saying, it's like they're totally independent of each other.

He"s got a mouth like a bloody letter box Mick Channon is Wiltshire [Shrewton] born and bred, dont think he"d be happy being classed as West Country very proud of his roots He is at Salisbury races a lot, always happy for a natter Worst pundit. Hartson ,, there"s no comparison in my book Oh for the days of just ONE commentator

I don't disagree. And people have their own particular dislikes (or favourites) - some of them mentioned on this thread. However, I think it is less that Joe C or John Hartson (or whoever) is a poor pundit. More that they are all pretty much redundant. They generally offer extremely little - statements of the bleedin' obvious, or drawing generalised conclusions from very specific and limited passages of play. Put it a different way. When you're actually at a game. When was the last time you thought: "Yeah it's a great match *. But it'd be sooo much better if I had ( insert name of pundit/summariser) next to me, explaining what's going on?" All of that said, I have largely trained myself not to be irritated by them - or the commentator for that matter. ( *if you can remember such a thing).
