Stoke every time.
Let's just hope they can both come up with a win.

England.
England finally winning a knockout match against a major footballing nation away from Wembley would be an event of epic magnitude and potentially produce a seismic shift in international football that sees us dominating all tournaments for the next 50 years and bringing home trophies galore.
Stoke winning would merely be quite nice.

You still not watching any of the World Cup mate? I was in the casino on Saturday night and the last 10 minutes of the Argentina vs Australia game was on but that's all I've seen and I wasn't really watching tbh. You're missing a great tournament mate

England win, Stoke lose.
Stoke could lose and would still get enough points for mid table mediocrity, England can’t lose and make a World Cup semi final.

Exactly, we’re not exactly challenging for promotion, and if we can’t get enough points for mid table safety, we’ll we don’t deserve to stay up, as far as England, let’s see how far we can go…..

England. A win over Cardiff is not likely to make a largely forgettable campaign memorable (unless it kickstarted a massive winning streak) but beating the defending champions to reach another World Cup semi, and the confidence that would bring, are priceless

England all day on this particular day. Always depends what the situation is. Of course both will win and it’ll be a magical day

Stoke every time. Let's just hope they can both come up with a win. My question: are you likely to ever remember a mid-season Stoke win 10 years from now, when that game is against Cardiff in a year where we are likely not going to do anything of note? Would you remember England beating France? If England got to the World Cup final, would you remember them winning it for the remainder of your life, or do you think that you would get more joy from beating Bristol City?

I'd pick Stoke if it was a competition win (such as the FA Cup), but for one league match vs England reaching the semi-final, I'll go for England. And the Quarter Final will be the first game of this World Cup I've watched.

Prefer a France win than a Stoke win. Hate the England supporters, mainly made up of the likes of Utd, Arsenal & Chelski fans who think it is England's right to win it - just like their buy-the-title clubs, can't take defeat when the inevitable happens because they are not used to never winning anything, proudly sing the German national anthem all through the game, boo the opposing team's national anthem, made up of lawyers, accountants and other middle-class professions whose only excitement is hugging each other and trying to cause a bit of trouble so they get a bit of attention in their sad little boring lives. Players are overrated half of them can't get in the PL team they are playing for, FA are arseoles - I'll leave it there
England are sh^te, 3rd tier international team with no chance - come on Le Bleu - make it humiliating, please

England
Stoke have provided little or no entertainment for about 5 years now, I’m enjoying this World Cup and I’d like to enjoy it for a few more weeks before we are back to Stoke ruining a perfectly good Saturday afternoon.

I suppose in this instance a load of crap like this was inevitable. Harsh but possibly fair.. only meant to be a bit of fun, I'm bored and anxious on a Monday morning and it's not every day two fixtures clash like this just ignore eet if it's too tedious Absolutely no need for a white flag. It was obvious you were having a bit of fun. And if "not being a load of crap" were a pre-requisite for a thread, there would be little material on here. Very little indeed. Definitely A for me. But then I have had scant emotional investment in Ingerlund since Euro 96.

Flags from Stoke, Shrewsbury Town, Burnley, Wolves, Bristol Rovers, Sheff Utd are etc. are far more prevalent than the clubs you mention. And one of the overriding factors is that following one of the top 6 involves season after season of European games which costs money that would otherwise be spent following England all over Europe/the world……..
