If we needed any further evidence what a rancid league this is then that was it tonight. That Rotherham side are currently 10th and I can’t remember seeing us play a poorer side. The fact that we are now 6 places below them is really disheartening on the evidence of tonight's game. It's felt like that for the past few years though, sat below teams who we really ought to be performing better than. Barely any sides possess enough guile to break teams down that sit deep and hold onto a lead.

How we lost that God only knows. Campbell could have had 4 himself. It's like we lost all composure and snatched at every chance apart from the Powell header at the end. Ridiculous! Yes exactly that - just trying too hard. The performance was there though and the goals will come sure enough. Onwards and upwards

I don’t think there’s much to criticise at all tonight. Other than the finishing. We moved the ball well and generally quickly, but you’re not going to be able to do that for the whole game. It was as well as I’ve seen us play for ages, in terms of controlling the game and creating chances. You can’t even say they turned up and executed their game plan. We’ve absolutely murdered them and they’ve somehow won, but it happens. A point would have been harsh on us, getting none is just cruel.
Keep at it.

So typical stike city but accountability has to sit with the manager for playing gayle as a 10 we’ve 4 players in the squad who can do that Smallbone , clucas , Powell and DMWP why on earth play gayle there and of course the keeper every loss at home would have bern a different game if we had swapped keepers with the opposition it’s the abject chronic weakness in the squad
brown and Powell have to start Saturday for me and we’re 20 mins too late tonight which just confirmed delap is nowhere near ready at this level an impact sub at best for now

For some reason the website Sv Spel (our national betting company), seem to have abandoned the idea of presenting stats and moving graphs in real time. In fact they don't present static stats either. No way to follow any game there nowadays at all. I don't know why. And if they at least present the final results from the games it's often wrong. It's a joke and the rate definitely below 0.
From the BBC website I found out we lost. How did that happen? How is it possible with these stats?
Goal chances 29-4 On target 12-1 Ball poss. 68-32% Corners 8-3
Result 0-1

However, I believe we missed him today because the midfield was a shambles without him until Powell came on, steadying the ship and playing some key through balls that started opening things up.

Hopefully that run out for Brown means he can play a full game on Saturday because unfortunately Delap is nowhere near the level required for this league at the moment, to hang out hat on an untested 19 year old is ridiculous.

Yep.
Played OK. Don’t tinker with #10. 4 at the back. New goalie.
And we will be fine.

How anyone can criticise last night’s overall performance is baffling. On another night we win that by four or five! Nothing more anyone could have done other than score.

And I thought the 4-0 thrashing we got from Watford was already bad enough.

Smallbone and clucas presumably but he still had w other 10s and chose to play gayle there it was a very poor selection he’s still finding his feet in my view good performances or excellent Preston sheff United interspersed with poor selections and approach Watford reading and Rotherham but a fit brown and Powell improve that team considerably As will Tymon being available whos back training next week but souttar I hear while playing remains some way off

On the bench as he looked off the pace at times. Especially when through on goal. His decision making was also poor and shot (poorly) countless times tonight when he could have squared it or played a clever ball to split the defence. Campbell has to start, our best finisher and has been a constant thorn in defences when played wide, Delap and Gayle need be dropped for Powell and Brown.

The refs need apply the current rules, I believe six second rule for keepers to get rid is still a rule? Players not with head injury who suddenly lie down, ref should play on, the tit last night gave us no advantages when he could of played on and book their players afterwards, only one he played on was deep in our box, when wilmot hoofed upfield to put ball out for throw in! Powers that be need also put a five minute sin bin for players who go down for no obvious injury…..

And the worst decision of all, which I mentioned elsewhere, is not to give US a free kick when Jagielka heads the ball away and the player then heads him. That is a foul every minute of every day. Then it becomes irrelevant whether Jagielka has to leave the field because we should have been taking a free kick.

Good luck to them. Looking down the squad list in last nights programme their season's budget must be an absolute fraction of those at the top. They had 10 games worth of luck in 100 minutes of football but they worked hard and put their bodies on the line.................

Disappointed with the result obviously but one thing that stood out for me last night was the sheer number of 50/50 balls we won. That will surely result in our winning more than we lose over the rest of the season

I don't want to start a new thread but I thought our corners were absolutely wank last night, we did not try anything different once and did not win one ball, surely we could have mustered up something different??
