Nice to see 4 at the back becoming a more familiar starting option. I'm sure Delap will get on in the second half and I hope Clarke also sees some game time.
Hopefully we can continue where we left off last match. It would be great to see Gayle break his duck for us today and goals for Campbell and Fosu would also be very welcome.

Quite surprised (and pleased) if he’s not going back to a 5.. although it’s possible he might be?

Quite surprised (and pleased) if he’s not going back to a 5.. although it’s possible he might be? Wouldn't rule it out completely. O'Shea read the names out in this order: Bursik Jagielka Fox Wilmot Fosu Baker Laurent Smallbone Sterling Gayle Campbell

I care what his contributions over a season are, and he hasn’t made a strong one since he had that period of scoring. Useless almost every game ever since.

It’s what I was expecting based on his presser

O'Shea read the names out in this order: Bursik Jagielka Fox Wilmot Fosu Baker Laurent Smallbone Sterling Gayle Campbell We listed the team in that sort of order last week and then played 433. The list of players is just those that will be on the pitch at kick off. Keep everyone guessing.

But it was quite a considered read-out, which did make me think it was a back three with wing-backs

Useless almost every game ever since. He's been fine, some seem to expect him to be some all singing all dancing midfielder, he's never been that, he's a solid if unspectacular CM with a decent shot on him now and then. I agree we over spent and that we need better (we now have) but some of the bollocks spouted about him has been overboard imo.

Honestly, if we keep last week's endeavour going we should win this 3 or 4 nil.
It's a great feeling.
