I say the same. I just saw the first Stoke game on full size TV this season so far, at home to Watford.
It was a disaster. What is the game plan?
Slow and no technique.
Souttar, Powell and Brown missed.
Smallbone terrible second half. Best players today Baker (MoM) and Willmot.

To not take any shit from Watford players trying take the piss in front of the south stand, twat them and any monthly Watford fan coming out the ground, that's my plan.

As far as I can see the tactics under AN are pretty much the same as MON. Slow, ponderous build up play, very little width, look to pass it back as much as possible, try to walk the ball in when inside the penalty area. I am not optimistic at the moment.

We do need a plan.
It's difficult, but we need to find a way to compete against teams like Watford that can spend a lot more money than us.
Otherwise, we will stay lower mid table forever.
Maybe a different way of playing? You need a lot of money to play 5-3-2 well, so we should ditch that.
Personally for the rest of the season I'd stick to a simple 4-3-3 and just try to defend well and hit on the counter with delap, Gayle, brown when fit.
It'll be a long miserable season either way.

Pray that they'll get another Tony Pulis
That or time travel back 20 years.

A terrible state of affairs given these are professionals and its their JOB! Its like a bricklayer turning up and doesn't know which end of the trowel he has to use and wants 10K a week (without any criticism of the boss).

I have no idea, and this notion of not being fit, can't do the basics, can't even pass a ball straight over 5yds is nothing short of a disgrace for professional players. What the hell have they been doing for the past 5yrs ???

When we came down in the 80’s, at what point did we accept we were shit and just take it for what is was? I think we need to get to that point to get back to enjoying it again. Will there ever be a point like that again or is football so far removed from what it was?

Will there ever be a point like that again or is football so far removed from what it was? No internet then and there were far more social distractions beyond the football. The fact that the world's currently going to hell in a handcart magnifies the need for a bit of joy from your sporting teams

Will there ever be a point like that again or is football so far removed from what it was? We've been shit more recently than that. We employed a fat comedian from Belguim who signed a centre forward who ran off, that season was far more enjoyable than any of the last 5 have been finishing in virtually the same position. I suppose it's modern day football, I dread to think how much that lot got paid for today, not arsed because someone else will pay them if we don't. It absolutely stinks.

The plan is quite simple. Sign a manager, give him complete control, allow him to fill every last role in the club with his own men, throw every last allowable penny at it until his situation becomes untenable, regardless of when and/or where in the season that is.
Rinse repeat and if they stumble on a good manager that hits the jackpot then happy days. If not, throw a few news stories out about free coaches and price freezes and the locals will lap it up.

It's been like this for years with no one addressing it. If AN doesn't have it sorted by Christmas then we may as well accept that downwards will be the curve we will continue to follow.

The amount of times yesterday players could barely control the ball, let alone do anything useful. Bobble touch, bobble touch, bobble, oops a Watford player has it. They are just simply poor players, whether they can improve (can you improve something in their mid 20s?). Running as well, a couple resemble me trying to chase after a ball, they look slow and just simply UNFIT. The give up nature with 15 minutes to go yesterday was a disgrace and we're in for one very long season if things do not change.

The truth is we have an owner who's son runs the club Neither of them have a clue. Peter Coates has only made one correct decision in his long association with the club and that was to re-appoint Pulis. I remember fans trying to storm the directors box to get at him. Now even though he's still here and very wealthy we have no board of directors to make decisions so things won't get better He can appoint as many managers as he likes but it wont alter things We're playing Delap who is clone of Sam Volkes but not as good and Gayle who at the very end of his career The team we have now is dire, bargain basement players of League1 standard. What a joke
