Very good keeper, but I fear he will be too expensive for us

I’m kind of surprised that this wasn’t sorted on Day 1 to be honest.
Did we get the loan fee back from Travers?
Iversen sounds like he used to be a good goalkeeper. Will be interesting to see if he still is (and if we can get him permanently after the loan).

Yay!
A loan now and then sign one permanently in the summer makes sense.
He won't be able to be recalled either will he?

I could be wrong but I think loan fees are calculated monthly so you’d hope we’ve only paid for time he was with us.

No idea if he can't be recalled then loan is fine Think Leicester would have to have zero fit keepers to be able to recall him. Seems unlikely as they've got Hermansen, Ward and a young Pole as well www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-mark-travers-8895985In the Championship, clubs can only make an emergency recall of a loan goalkeeper from an EFL club if they don't have any senior keeper fit but in the Premier League you can call a keeper back if you don't have two. Bad luck.

When he was in the side at Leicester he looked the real deal
I’d be over the moon with this. Much more like the standard of keeper we used to have

No idea if he can't be recalled then loan is fine If we loan him with a deal to sign permanently in the summer you'd think they wouldn't be allowed to recall him or else that would balls up the second part of the deal shirley. Anyway he's about 5th choice at Leicester so unlikely to be recalled.

Thanks for the clarification as such if Travers and Iverson are of equal quality and the loan fees and amount of wages have to pay are more or less the same then better to loan Iverson as chance of recall is much less What a load of Bollocks transfer windows and loan rules have become

Very good keeper, but I fear he will be too expensive for us With 18 months left on a deal, you’d like to think that he’s grown wise to the idea that Leicester don’t want him. If we can loan him in now and make a good impression, their valuation of him will have to drop as he enters the final year of his contract. Even PL teams want to make a little money from sales (it’ll drop more if they somehow cock this season up).

Good move, loan him until the end of the season, and then he is into the final 12 months of his contract and Leicester will be in the prem, he will will be surplus to requirements for them you would presume and they will want to cash in, so we could get him for a decent price as long as he does well for us between now and the end of the season.
Also because Leicester are currently in the championship they can’t emergency recall him like Bournemouth did with Travers.

What’s happened for him to fall so far down the pecking order at Leicester? I can understand him being behind the likes of Schmeichel in the Premier League, but he was the standout keeper in the Championship when he was on loan at Preston?

From what I’ve seen of him his distribution isn’t all that. He’s more of an old fashioned twat the ball up the pitch keeper rather than your modern play it out from the back keeper.

Leicester play the ball across their back line and expect their keeper to be very good with the ball at their feet - Iversen isn't that type of keeper. Nothing to do with form - he's just at the wrong club and is still a good keeper.
