Well we aren’t going to see MONs actual first eleven u til October due to injuries, so I guess we just have to stick it out and hope we can find a plan B over the next 6 weeks to tide us over.

That was pretty much the worst midfield performance l can recall for a long time.
Why was Smallbone not playing in the role he played Vs Blackpool. Totally ineffective tonight.
And Baker. Impose yourself on the game man. Without Laurant he's slruggling l get that. Then play him with either Killkenny or Thompson in CM to provide the legs and discipline he clearly needs.
Get them two things right and the team is totally different.

We saw last season enough dross performances, we cannot let injuries mask the tactical ineptness we are seeing, if the players we have got out injured mean that the system you prefer cannot be played then you change it to suit the players you have available, if you don't it leads to performances like we have seen for a lot of last season and the start of this.

He hasn't had a plan B for 2 years so I wouldn't hold your breath. His plan A isn't anything to get excited about either.

Boro tore us a new one last night. Very very lucky to come away with a point MONs football is wank and soul destroying and he’s splitting the fan base

MON will be delighted. He set us up to avoid defeat at home, and we scraped a totally undeserved point. I’m looking forward to hearing Wilder’s post match interview. 😂 Yep MoN edges a bit closer to his mega bonus for keeping us in the championship till 2023 I would be interested to know if Marco Silva , Daniel farke and Marcelo biesla , all had it written into there contracts , that they got bonuses totalling over a million quid,if they can tread water in the championship and not even threaten the play offs , let alone, promotion

It's not his fault if some fans like him and some don't

Well from where I sat the two things that stood out. There hunger for the ball and constant pressing which caused needless loss of possession time after time. Complete dominance of the midfield. Continually robbing possession from us they then acres of space to press foreword in numbers. Smallbone and Baker did not produce the performances that we were expecting from them.
On the positive side we got a point even though we were poor.

It's not his fault if some fans like him and some don't results split van bases, the result is caused by the manager and the team, they pick the team and recruit the team. Open your eyes mate.

Two main problems that stem from the same thing...
1. We didn't press quick enough or in numbers
2. We can't play football when a team presses us high up the pitch

The depressing thing is that it will go on and on and on. No real improvement since we were relegated. In fact now it seems worse. I wish Coates would sell up and take his family with him I see the argument, better to have some billionaire in charge , who can write off millions in debts , than be in a derby situation. I get it But a lack of ambition and positivity from the board seems to seep through onto the pitch If you are JC, why finance bringing in delap brown Gayle fosu etc , then puts the manager on a big bonus to finish 21 st or higher and tread water in the championship .What is the point I am not even sure he gets the fact , there is a massive cost of living crisis for most people in Stoke , and if the football is not entertaining ...yes , the hardcore will remain ( 8000? 10000?) , But eventually, season ticket sales will plummet and crowds will be dire .

Baker should be allowed forward IMO. Putting Clucas at 8 instead was shit just like every other time MON's tried it. I agree re Kilkenny or Thompson.

Just watched the highlights on EFL show. Possible foul for our first which we got away with. Didn't think so at the game but in TV it looks like a foul. Irrelevant in the grand scheme of things . Possible foul as in he he clearly wins the ball and their player looks for a free kick? I thought he clipped his ankle. But hey ho .

Tactics and formation are killing us, Middlesbrough just pushed us high and we had no answer for it. We have a goal scorer at this level in Gayle who is wasted in this formation. The Managers interviews don’t help, denying that anything is wrong and carrying on game by game. Change the formation and admit it isn’t working at the moment. Otherwise it’s another 14th places finish at best.

We can't play football when a team presses us high up the pitch And we're sooooooo slow when on the ball, Boro moved it about much quicker, it takes us 5/6 passes to get it out from the defence to then pass it back again.

Late in the game, Baker started getting forward and all of a sudden things started happening. Baker missed a sitter, then set up the equaliser! I thought all three late subs made a difference, especially Kilkenny.
