How dependable is Taylor, genuine question.
He is one of our own though.

I don't feel anywhere near as negative to Clucas as a lot of people, but I can't see ANY creativity in the starting team.

Not bad other than Clucas FFS (his full Name) Hopefully the small boned one is still warming up Clucas FFS must have impressed MoN FFS in training.

Good team, not too much to moan about. Hopefully we can start the season with 3pts! Goarn Stoke!

I'm nowhere near the superfan I thought I was; who is Taylor? The young centre-back who was on loan at Bristol Rovers last season

Moan moan fucking moan. I prefer it when he picks a side most on here like and all you read is I like that side, go on stoke. Then we lose 2-0!! So ppl not entitled to their opinions then 🙄

Puts a tenner on clucks anytime scorer.
It’s bound to happen and we all know it.

There's a few surprises there for me. Bursik selected ahead of Bonham Flint ahead of Jagielka Clucas selected ahead of any midfielder Brown not starting, can't see either Gayle of Campbell being fit enough to play more than 60 minutes Apart from Clucas, who leaves massive gaps in midfield it looks alright on paper. Would rather see them do 60 and Brown come on than the other way round

The only surprise is that people are surprised. I thought this. Why are people STILL surprised at his dumbfounding selections, organisation and substitutions? Brown and Smallbone on the Bench is only justifiable by a Stoke Victory. Let’s see.

I'm probably one of Clucas' harshest critics but actually that midfield could be quite well balanced. It wouldn't have been my first choice but there is some twisted logic in the cover he offers Tymon and he can play deep or further up the pitch depending how they come at us. He's played as bad/worse as anyone pre-season.
With 5 subs allowed I fully expect us to finish the game with a different front line and midfield.
I think we will narrowly win.

Let's hope Sam Clucas proves us all wrong. Thing is he proves everyone wrong for 1-3 games per year. (Then proves everyone right for the rest of the season!)

Then we lose and everyone goes missing. That's the side, you can't do anything about it, so watch it, listen to it, wait for the result then everyone can moan their heads off again

One of the positives of that line up is that it features four players who went through the academy at some stage. In addition there's a homegrown player on the bench.

Decent team, happy with Clucas - apparently been OK in pre-season. Worried that we will concede too many through the season but good start today 3-1 with Clucas, ty and Gayle getting our goals

But why would we want a balanced midfield in the first game of the season away at millwall? Surely we could play 3 forwards up front, another 3 forwards from the kids in midfield, then play some more forwards from the youth set up in defence.

So we're going with a straight midfield 3 with Laurent, Baker and Clucas.... No link up with the front two then??? 🤔
I'd have prefered to see Smallbone in in place of Clucas!!!

Harsh on Jacob Brown. The defence is an unknown if slightly frightening prospect but what the hey let’s start with a bit of belief. Hope we’re not intending to sell him
