Ben Foster will be our No1 next season Could you imagine the grief he’ll get for his GoPro if we do badly.

Wonder how many starters in the first choice XI we're looking at?
Got to be a RB/RWB.
Got to be a reasonable chance of a new No.1 keeper?
Can Tymon offer enough in a back 4?
A left-sided CB if we're going to stick with a back three seems likely?
Could Jagielka partner Souttar in a back 4? And are they both competing for the same central spot in a back three?
A new midfielder to complement Baker and Powell? Although Allen may yet stay?
A new, physical target-man type to lead the line in a 4 and complement the other strikers when we play with a front 2?
If we play a front 3, is Campbell on the right and Brown on the left, either side of the new focal point, feasible? Or do we need other options up there?
Campbell and Brown surely can't play as a two - and Brown can't lead the line. Brown on the left would be a punt - but not sure Tyrese could really offer much anywhere but wide right, where he excelled previously
I worry about the staleness in midfield if Allen stays. It's just bringing the band back together and hoping for something different, with a lot of expectation put on a new RB and target man to shake the whole thing up.
4-3-3 Bursik(??) ??-Wilmot-Souttar-Tymon Baker-Allen(??) Powell Campbell-??-Brown
3-5-2 Bursik(??) Wilmot-Souttar-?? ??-Allen(??)-Baker-Powell-Tymon ??-Brown
3-4-3 Bursik(??) Wilmot-Souttar-?? ??-Baker-Allen(??)-Tymon Powell-Brown ??

I agree with Fuller, I think the midfield needs a real freshen up, Allen resigning would be a diaster, he's had his time, he & we need a parting of the ways.

Odds with just Hudds or Forest to be added It looks very open. Don't fancy any of the relegated clubs to run away with it this time. m.skybet.com/football/sky-bet-championship/event/29301863Watford 13/2 Norwich 7/1 West Brom 8/1 Burnley 10/1 Sheffield Utd 10/1 Middlesbrough 12/1 Swansea 16/1 Blackburn 20/1 QPR 20/1 Stoke 20/1Sunderland 20/1 Hull 22/1 Coventry 25/1 Luton 25/1 Cardiff 28/1 Millwall 28/1 Wigan 28/1 Birmingham 33/1 Blackpool 33/1 Preston 33/1 Reading 33/1 Bristol City 40/1 Rotherham 66/1

I thought with Steve Gibson running the show ( who lets be fair, is a very solid owner and backs his man in charge) he wouldnt want to move on...... Unless..................................

Interesting reading. The same Twitter account has also listed teams who've given the most minutes to players 23 and under in the Championship. We're 5th. Of course, the young players need to be good enough and in you'd rather be Fulham (second from bottom) than Barnsley (top). Still encouraging and hopefully Forrester and Taylor will get extended runs next season. Barnsley - 26,009 Blackburn Rovers - 22,446 Hull City - 20,790 Swansea City - 18,839 Stoke City - 18,808 Bournemouth - 17,814 Derby County - 17,680 Cardiff City - 16,044 Huddersfield Town - 15,369 Nottingham Forest - 15,332 Bristol City - 14,145 Coventry City - 13,951 Peterborough United - 13,683 Preston - 13,059 Middlesbrough - 12,488 Blackpool-12,013 Reading - 10,951 Sheffield United - 9964 Millwall - 9360 Luton Town - 9114 QPR - 8102 Birmingham City - 7340 Fulham - 5363 West Brom - 4862

The squad does look flimsy if you take out DWP, Clucas, Fox, Forrester and Duhaney who almost certainly won't figure much, if at all.
The attacking options look absolutely threadbare, although suppose Doughty may be an option if he finds favour
GK Bursik Bonham 2023
RB/RWB Duhaney 2023
LB/LWB Fox 2023 Doughty 2024 Tymon 2025
CB Jagielka Jan 2023 Wilmot Souttar 2025 (plus Forrester, Taylor who may or may not be involved)
MID Powell Vrancic Clucas Etebo 2023 Baker Thompson 2024
ATT/WIDE Afobe 2023 Campbell DWP 2024 Brown 2025 (plus Tezgel?)

Taylor is 20 on the back of an excellent loan and needs playing. Cowardice is the only reason either don’t feature next season.

Perversely if this proves anything it is that you need to NOT put your eggs in the U23 basket if you are serious about promotion. Fulham and Bournemouth are already pronoted and Forest are about to be and none of those clubs feature anywhere near the top of this table. Relying on U23's will NOT give you the outcomes you need!

Just had this odd vision of us going from an "old dogs home" squad to one so young that pressure's ramped up on the 12 & Unders. On the bright side, Pottermus successfully delivered a calf...

Having witnessed Tom Sparrows debut performance against Coventry I agree it would take a brave manager to entrust our league position to the youngsters. Brave or bat shit mental.

What has playing a young player that the manager has tried to convert to a right back for some perplexing reason got to do with Will Forrester? Sparrow was a really good midfielder and then he gets to the first team squad and the manager tries to convert him to a right wing back and he looks massively out of his depth. I think it's appalling from the manager tbh.

Not that betting odds count for much, nobody really has a clue - especially in this division.
