Loved anything. Hanna Barbara.
I’m very surprised that there was never a “UK Kids Gold” channel put out there. So much quality kids tv out there.
Nothing ever beat the trumpton trilogy though

There was another anime on sky/Nynex in the late 80’s early 90’s think it was Macross but can’t be sure, due to splitting time between home and my grandparents I used to miss days of that and have no clue what was going on when I came back. Everything else on the list above I’m on for watching on repeat plus Dogtanian. We had our first child at 19 so I was able to continue watching most of them for years as I just trained my kids on what I liked lol, well worked with the girls my lads have no taste it was all Ben 10 and SpongeBob ( I did enjoy jimmy neutron though)

When it came out in 1960 it was originally intended for an adult audience and was sponsored by Winston tobacco company. Only after the first two series did they start to write it specifically for children.

Tried to get the kids into them and just about got the oldest (now 13) into D&D for a short time. Too late for the younger one who loves Teen Titans, Sponge Bob and Mystery Shack, which to be fair are good. Biggest travesty of the cartoon era was that they never finished D&D. Only 27 episodes and they never found the way home.

I agree needs rebooting, at least I managed hit cool parenting with my oldest son as he’s massively into anime and manga and I had an original Akira from the eighties at my nans old house, and I had it on vhs so we’ve bonded over that and Appleseed, we took his mum watch Akira at the cinema when they reopened last year me she loved it. We all watch Rick and morty, big mouth, f is for family, final space and paradise of all adult animation which is better than most tv. We’ve managed get my oldest daughters boyfriend into it all at 24 we opened his eyes to whole new animation lol god knows what he watched as a kid it must have been all teletubbies until he was at university.

F is for family is brilliant it Bill Burr as a 70’s dad in a suburban cul de sac but this has drugs sex murder and father on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I’ve never really got into the new manga and anime, Lewis my son is all over it, one punch man, my hero academia, one piece? And others you have mentioned. On the subject of Akira I did think the film Chronical was extremely similar in tone.

Some clever sausage couple of years back managed to animate it:
