I wonder if we could find a role for MON somewhere else within the hierarchy and bring in a new manager to concentrate on the football?
He has seemed more like an accountant than a football manager recently anyway.
Either way if it goes tits up today and the atmosphere gets inevitably ugly then that's the end of the road surely ?

The players owe MoN big time
Jacob brown and Josh tymon have worked on their game to become more effective
Lewis baker has attempted to come in and try and be proactive and make things happen
So credit where it's due
But that is three players out of a squad of 23 ISH
On the whole , the players owe MoN a big performance today
By the same token , if the players go missing again today , I can't see any outcome , other than MoN being eased out the door
In some ways he doesn't deserve it , but that's football

Today is irrelevant - we'd be 15th He's had enough chances - get rid Exactly this. If we were to win does that suddenly mean he’s the man? The situation needs to be looked at from day one til now combined with whether there are truly sustainable foundations being laid which will see us promoted. The last ten games or so have just eaten away at what was a reasonable record and nothing that we are seeing suggests there is something to look forward to. I hope the decision has already been made to dispense with him or we will be just treading water with yet another wasted season next.

The issue I now have is that, we basically have to pull the trigger. But we won’t. We could send out feelers to managers like Farke and ask him about interest this season, but we won’t.
We’ll wait until 10 games into next season and then waste another campaign.
I don’t want to advocate for sackings, but it is SO rare that a manager who is on the cusp of one, turns it around.
A win today means nothing unless it’s followed by 8 consecutive ones, which won’t happen, so let him go and bring in someone to assess the squad now, before half of it leaves.

The hope is always there but every week is the same old dross. But what else am I gonna do on a Satdee afternoon? Just seen the stats that Rowett is still unbeaten against us (3W,2L). Also we haven't won in 9 while Millwall are unbeaten in 8. Rowett still unbeaten against us With 3 wins and 2 losses

The last thing we need today is a player called Fletcher scoring in a scrawny 1-0 win that keeps the current manager in position for longer than is necessary.

I think we'll go behind in the first 10 to 15 minutes, and if that happens it's going to turn into a cauldron.

A win today actually means that there are no winners. Even if we won all those consecutive games the question would become "why couldn't we perform like this before, and moreover, could the turn around be sustained into next season". Michael would still be in the firing line whatever.

Michael would still be in the firing line whatever. I’m not too sure about that. Fans are fickle (myself included) and 9 straight wins would breed hope for next season and likely have us in a position where there is the remotest of chances of playoffs if other results drastically go our way. As I said though, that’s not happening. A run like that needed to happen in January and instead, we’ve fallen apart.

I hope the decision has already been made to dispense with him or we will be just treading water with yet another wasted season next. If it was never the official club target to get promoted - and any such target wasn't made public - why should he be judged upon not achieving that? We did actually get to be in the top 2 twice and the top 6 for some period of time, so how could you not say that the manager has proved he can lay sustainable foundations? You could then criticise him for failing to extend those foundations, but it's not sackable, when there wasn't a must-get-promoted demand. As you say we have to look at it from the beginning of the season, and the season does not start with matchday 1. It starts with the relative "success", if that's the proper word , of moving on a succession of wantaway players, who had poisened the club atmosphere for a number of years. It also starts with the ingoing transfers, and in this respect, I think his actions have been very poor in both windows, though again not in itself sackable, when you also accept that loanees have had to be brought in, because money wasn't there to bring more players in on permanent contracts. Still I feel that some of the loans could have been avoided and they have blocked the potential progress of the club's own players. Again not something to sack him for. As I've expressed in a number of messages my patience runs very long. I'm not essentially disposed towards getting rid of managers, apart from Rowett, who I detested from day 1 (although I've come to respect him more recently), and finally I did give up on Jones. If he does resign or is sacked, I would hope it wasn't because alternative tables are set up, or because we might finish a little lower in the real table. There are a number of other reasons I don't think should influence the decisionmaker. But I have to say that if the players are turning against him, then that's the point of no return for any manager. The phrase has appeared in a number of messages but without a single name listed. So again if he leaves for that reason I would hope that it's a real "event", not just something somebody writes in a blog.

International break following the game.
Surely this is the last game that O’Neill and his appointments will be at SCFC.
