I did myself but it wont change my view Brown is not a central forward in a promotion team and WP far too early to say he played well today but stiffer tests are ahead but a great start Agree Brown is a good squad player over a season. DWP would probably do better in a 3 against better sides which means our need is a mobile Fletcher upgrade then Campbell can play the other side in a 3. However with Baker when Powell comes back, we will have a core midfield as good as any in the division. Get Souttar fit, sign a left sided centre back, pick and choose which contracts to renew, and we are building a very competitive base for next season. It’s going to be quite a challenge to work out a selection and system with. Sawyers , Powell and Vranic fit presumably with baker behind two of them

Hull, yet another set of club owners who should have left their ideas & themselves at the bottom of a canal. I won't make fun of Billy because that club has been run like a freak-show on crack and this stupid league has just watched it happen.
Another example of EFL neglect - fit and proper my arse. They only care whether buyers have the initial jack to take over a team & nothing else. No concern as to where the money comes OR how the owners behave once they buy a team.
If this league can meddle like they are in Soviet Russia and stop owners from investing in players, then they can stop owners from asset-stripping. I'm convinced that EFL policy has degenerated into brown envelopes, it's "protection" money coming from the PL. Just another future scandal.
They could just be a tragic collection of twits, but the odds of assembling so many of them in one place (Outside of Arsenal) are pretty low.

Agree that the present "Fit & Proper" test for owners is not fit for purpose.
But you talk like the EFL is a fully autonomous body which can make policy from an entirely objective position.
It isn't. Rather it is a servant of the 72 owners. And those owners will not tighten up on F&P, since it is contrary to their own interests, since every owner must have in his/her mind a consideration for what happens if/when they decide/need to sell up themselves.
Therefore they require the widest variety of bidders, in order to fetch the highest possible price. Meaning that they don't care who is bidding, or how/where they got their money from, just so long as the cheque doesn't bounce.
And while the EFL is an owner-operated body, or until the government imposes an independent regulator, that isnt likely to change.

Despite his showing yesterday Clucas would be third choice as he is no good when pressed

Despite his showing yesterday Clucas would be third choice as he is no good when pressed I fancy they will shoehorn sawyers in somewhere All of a sudden we have a glut of midfielders. Sawyers I don’t think will be back, Vrancic as good as he’s been may be used from the bench more. To me we have to sell one of Allen or Clucas either this month or in the summer. We’d get a couple of million for either I’d think

I can’t pick the third

Whoosh Moment for me. Yes, I wrongly assumed that the owners as members, elected a governing hierarchy of some type with the power to regulate. [Buzzer sound here] ... Oh that's ominous. I mean just the potential for brown envelopes alone amongst a group of cash-desperate owners in these times... Probably just my jaded outlook on things, but ... damn! So this dog & pony show would have to be way out of control AND on fire before anyone of any independence would even start to look and "see what the fuss is about."
