His first 6 months here were good. At the minute the FA cup to us means nothing doesn’t it? It’s a decent chance to try and get some form and some fitness for said players. It's a decent chance to get a run of results and better play. It should mean something, but a lot of fans like you don't care. I'm not disinclined to agree that Ince's first four months with us were good, but that's 36 months ago, and it would require Rowett to be reinstated, which no one wants. And Ince was used wide only, not centrally. It means nowt compared to promotion. It’s a good opportunity for fitness and game time and to rest a few too.

Leyton Orient are bringing around 500 fans, I can see there being a crowd of no more than 6,000 for this one especially coming off the back of two successive home games……

Ive tickets. Im hoping for a mixture of u23s ( since they are our future first team players) and first team players. An ideal match for Mon to try out any new formation ideas. The team news should be interesting.

If you draw a Prem side you expect to play virtually a second string and the competition has lost it"s magic. 6/7000 would be what I'd expect also.

I fully expect there to be a bigger crowd at the other FA Cup 3rd round tie being played in our city this weekend.

We're not getting promoted and we have no business thinking about it. All the more reason to have a nice cup run and actually win a home game, if anyone remembers what that means...

You can't trust what that man says about youth & team news. When he says he considers playing a youngeon next, he probably means next year. When he says he considers bringing in two, he probably does consider it, but he'll make sure the average age stays at 29...

Norton was a So'ton product. Porter has featured in the Caraboa, not in the league. Apart from the odd panic appearence when no one else was available (Forrester, Taylor), he's yet to give any home product their full debut in a league game.

That’s not what you originally said though ….you said he only ever considers it I pointed out that he played them players and brought them through the system giving them regular football ….NOT who purchased them Too bad you don't know the difference between bought and brought... I didn't say a word about purchase (well I mentioned Norton, he was a free). I quoted you on "brought through" and it so happens that all the players you mentioned were b Rought through by other managers, some of them, Bursik, Souttar came through at other clubs, not here. He leaves the "bringing through" to other managers, then when they've proved themselves elsewhere, then he's willing to consider playing them. How many homegrown players did you count in the Preston game? Zero. No, Campbell was homegrown at Citeh, we bought him for a large fee. DWP, if he plays vs Orient, was a Citeh player, but joined us by the time he'd turned 19, in other words not homegrown. Bursik was groomed at Wimbledon, and Souttar at Dundee. There are no homegrown players in MON's league teams, simple as that. In my OP i was really referring implicitly to the Mondqy morning interview (it might been published the day before) in the Sentinel where he stated that he was considering playing...and he listed a number of players (Sparrow, DWP, Macari among others (good, mature choices in my opinion). He must have known then that considering was all it was, because by evening he had selected a team with an average age of 29, and with only one non-playing player under 21 on the bench..

Please go easy on us Orient. We need all the help we can get. When you go one up, please don’t go for a second.

I'd go with our strongest side available, we need a win, we need confidence, saying that the way we have been defending balls into our box, I am not confident that they will not score...

I think he'll pick the weakest team possible. Not that he would admit it .... who would say such a thing as a manager?
The possibility of promotion is still the target.
