Be hell of a coup to see Chris Gayle on the Sky Sports mic. That would be great wouldn’t it. Loads of charisma and ticks all the boxes, well some of em…. The universe boss.

Sad to see Bumble go. Generally both Sky and the BBC have managed to find some great commentators over the years, with only the occasional lapse. I’m sure they’ll do well again this time. Maybe Cookie taking a little more time away from the farm. Cook is knowledgeable but doesn’t add much colour. Have you heard Steven Finn on TMS? He’s got some amusing stuff to say. Although I did once say hello to him whilst he was netting outside old Trafford and he told me to fuck off basically! Charming😀 I love Cook's understated humour. Stephen Finn is great though. I like him even more after learning about your exchange!

Stuart Broad will be on Sky when he retires and you'd imagine Jimmy will end up working with TMS, that's my guess anyway.

We said we’d always boo him when he came on to bowl in the future🤣 I may not have said “hello” as such😏

I’ll miss Bumble. When watching test cricket it can get a bit boring at times but his humour every now and then helped to keep my attention. We’ve lost a character and they’re hard to find.

I think he will be hard to replace for all the personality he did have a great knowledge of the game and was a former England coach, only Freddie comes close to similar and he is far too busy with his media career to do the commentating. Of the commentators I thought Dinesh Karrik was pretty good this summer but I imagine Sky will want to push a female forward. Yeh Kartik was good I thought. Ian Bishop absolutely does my head in along with Mark Nicholas, Danny Morrison, KP, Rainford Brent, Pommie Mbangwa. Could go on and on really…. DK is very good, Sangakarra is also stellar and can get away with that smugness that he has because he has the knowledge and likeability (for me anyway.) Contrast that to Mark ‘You little rippa’ Nicholas, a man who must be in a permanent state of confusion as he struggles to remember whether it is Cricket Australia or the South African hierarchy that he is toadying to this week. Bumble has obviously retained a sense of humour as mentioning Rob Key’ and ‘safe hands’ in commentary/summariser terms is obviously an in-joke.

Was watching the derisory BT sports coverage the other morning. Just got up and wanted to see what had happened in the morning session before I went to work. Instead I got 10 minutes of some bird talking about the women’s Ashes followed by 10 minutes of Jeremy feckin Snape talking about a fast bowlers mentality. They shoehorned about 2 minutes of pre lunch highlights in at the end. Awful coverage. By 'some bird' I think you mean the England Women's Cricket captain, Heather Knight.

An absolute travesty that he's had the boot.
