Just with Beef or with every meat (or indeed without meat)? The girlfriend thinks it's just for roast beef, I think it's for all meats and even for other non roast dishes - giant Yorkie with tinned steak in it is lovely!! Discuss

All meat. Thread over! In fact, no, I quite like it how it was originally invented for. Warm with a big dollop of jam. So all meat plus jam👍🏻

Every meat.
Pubs round here serve on their own with onion gravy.

My wife is lass from Saltburn and makes cracking Y puds.

The girlfriend has been brought up proper, Rob!
I’d say it’s excusable having a Yorkshire with other meats but I can’t be doing with the peasants that think peas go with a roast dinner.

What is tinned steak may I ask? Pal . Did you know that the PAL advertisement that goes " PAL - prolongs active life" was thought up by Murray Walker when he worked in advertising.

They give them to you with pretty much everything at the China Garden (and presumably other Toby Inns).
I ordered a sandwich for lunch - Yorkshire pudding came with it, breakfast - help yourself and don't forget your 'breakfast gravy' to accompany it!
Used to regularly have Sunday dinner around a mate's house in Portsmouth and he always served it as a starter with stuffing, probably a jock thing, he was from Corby.
Not overly fussed about them personally, very overrated imo.

However they are commonly served with other meats now, I like them with other meats, and on top of that I am a firm believer in these things not mattering if we like them! Just do it! PS I've been known to have mint sauce on beef and that's surely worse than yorkshire puddings with lamb!

Always eat my yorkshire pudding last. Never put gravy on it as well. Just leave it till the end to mop up every thing left on my plate.

Don't they have it as a starter in Yorkshire? Indeed. That was always the way my East Yorkshire granny served them up, and woe betide anyone who disagreed.

Do they still do Mrs Betty’s in pubs?

Do they still do Mrs Betty’s in pubs? Do you mean 'Aunt Bessie's'? Those giant one's of Aunt Bessie's are fab if you fill them up with cottage pie. You can even add a bit of mint sauce and stuffing to it to give it a bit of ooomph! OS.

All meats.
Love a Yorkshire, but some pubs like to fill your carvery plate with them as they're the cheapest thing on there.

All meats except pork. Obviously.
On a related matter. Can anyone tell me if sprouts are ready to eat yet?. They’re in the shops here but can be disappointing if you go too early (or too late for that matter) in the season.

I'm a Yorkshire man but don't like them! Son loves them though and eats them with anything including hash browns and potato waffles!
