Fans booing at half time and full time for the managers first home game is a really bad sign.
I'll be amazed if he is still there come Easter.

I think their only slim hope of staying up is that they realise their mistake early enough to get a good firefighter in to grind out the results they need. Presumably a certain baldy cap-wearer still resides in those parts...?

That reads just like the Oatcake did when he was here. We could have told them... We did That's right! Thanks for the reminder, seem to recall a couple of people who warned them on the Oatcake and their forum?

shows the importance of the relationship between players and the manager
norwich players respected lambert , stoke didn't millwall players respect rowett , not so stoke players luton players fine with NJ, not so stoke players gerrard ...rangers/ villa moyes ...everton / man utd etc etc
bizarre call by southampton though ...gerrard and moyes , have massive prem experience , not so NJ

Not sure if he'll last for 38 games (the equivalent of a full Premier League season) but if he does, I genuinely think he'll give Derby's '11 Pointers' a run for their money If they get 11 points between no and the end of this season, they'll be in the championship next season. I don't have this bizarre animosity towards him that many have, but it's an awful appointment by the Saints. I could see why a team like Brighton might take a chance on him but why on God's green earth did a struggling Southampton side want him?!

He’s the most manic manager I’ve ever seen, his nerves will be absolutely shredded at that level.

His defenders on the Southampton forum are trotting out xG stats all over again.
It's like groundhog day. There are posts saying he gave their players 2 weeks off so that he could evaluate the team, exactly the same as he did here.
An utter, utter charlatan and it speaks volumes about the depths of despair we've been in that that he took so many Stoke fans in for so long.

I could see why a team like Brighton might take a chance on him but why on God's green earth did a struggling Southampton side want him?! Nothing bizarre about it,as he was a total disaster here! He deserved everything he got, it was apparent very early on he was all talk. He literally gave the squad at the time the opportunity to down tools as he publicly stated the rest of that season didn't count. He should have been sacked at the end of that season. As it was the board stuck with him because they have a complete and utter inability to plan for the future. As poor as MONs football got I couldn't slate the bloke for the job that he did bailing us out after Jones' disastrous attempt at a full season, it's as big a recovery as Pulis post Cotterill and in hindsight both deserve the reverence of a promotion season. Yet because people nailed their flag so firmly to the mast of the ship sailed by that chest beating, pitch invading, nail biting, believer in his own hype that was Nathan Jones, they refused to see the obvious shambles before them. I never ever thought I'd see a Stoke manager I'd despise more than Steve Cotterill, but Jones blew him out of the water. Never has a manger made me want to give up watching Stoke than Jones, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

An utter, utter charlatan and it speaks volumes about the depths of despair we've been in that that he took so many Stoke fans in for so long. I was biased against XG anyway as form didn't correct itself towards XG but XG corrected itself towards form for me. Even it's most ardent supporters must realise there is a huge gaping hole in whatever statistical formula had us in the playoffs whilst he was in charge because anyone with eyes and even a rudimentary understanding of football could see we rarely looked like scoring actual goals and always seemed wide open to conceding a fucking barrel full of them. I've never seen a team so adept at having no options upfront and simultaneously be wide open for a counter attack at the back - it was a skill in incompetence in itself. In fairness 'Mad-Nath ball' probably needs 100% buy in and everyone running around mental for it to even have a remote chance of working - Southampton players obviously see through him already and as mental as it sounds they'd be as well fucking him off already before it gets worse.
