The last couple of years on here have been filled with posts along the lines of "Why can't we be like Sheffield United, they're doing everything right?!" The irony being that for 6 of our 10 years in the premiership, Sheffield Utd were in the 3rd division...

3 games in. They will be there or there abouts with that squad come end of the season.

They were being tipped as title winners by a few people- not sure what that was based on, as they were by far the weakest of the relegated sides and don't seem to have signed any players.

I watched their game yesterday and they were truely awful! Lucky they didn't lose by 6 or 7 as I saw it. Really struggled to deal with West Brom's long throw ins. Their goalkeeper looked very unconvincing as well.

Said it last night whilst watching it they lack balance and remind me of Stoke on our first down. They have no width. Fleck is cdm and they playing him left mid and dies baffle that they not playing either Brewster or Mcburnie

Jokanovic's teams are notoriously slow starters.
I did find the 'role reversal' last night bizarre though- Blades (a club you usually associate with the likes of Warnock and direct teams) being the cultured side and West Brazil being the hoofers.
It's amazing how a 4-0 win can turn the heads of fans who used to like seeing 'football played the right way' though. I thought they'd rather get relegated than watch Pulisball? 😀

They have serious fire power issues, their strikers couldn't score a goal between them at the moment.
And when you look through the squad it certainly doesn't scream "instant return to the Premier League"

At least if they do a Stoke they haven't spent £50m in the process and have managed to cash in on the odd asset.
The wage bill won't be the smallest but longer term they'll be in a far better position than us to sort the mess out, and on last night's evidence it's certainly a mess.

I think that is the only difference ( it’s a big one admittedly), but they looked poor against Brum, absolutely useless last night and Jokanovic isn’t Guardiola. They will be mid table and be thankful for it.

Strange, how all these teams fans that took the piss out of us for using the long throw, are now using the long throw. It’s sooooo 2009. With Souttar Ostigard Wilmot and Powell to aim at, and the world expert at long throws on the coaching staff, I wonder why we’re not? Rory is doing an impeccable job with the set pieces. The movement is brilliant and we've scored a handful of them already. If we get a long throw added to that bonus, though O'Neill has made a point of us getting the game started quickly over the past couple of years (even saying how good Leeds were at it when we got thumped by them just before they sealed automatic promotion), which is at odds with the long throw...

Makes us look positively prudent.

He’s always been a good goalscorer and I’ll always remember him scoring a couple of days after his son died. Seemed like a real professional; the rest I couldn’t care less about.

Might be why they've failed to spend yet as they need to get rid of some first ... Again something we didn't do.

Don't think so, they had over 60% possession the other night, was a good game to watch.
And the manager won't be forced to play players like butland and Shawcross.
Then again they could always implode
