RIP.

Oh shit I whack on cats does countdown when I'm homesick in the States and Sean was the best part for me. Loved his wit and, as others say, not punching down. RIP, Britain's lost one of its best.

That really is a shame, one of the best things on the box.
Didn't even know he was unwell, presumably he chose to deal with it just with his loved ones rather than go public with it, and fair play to him for wanting to do that.

Its cut deep this one. You will be missed by so so many. An absolute favourite comedian of mine and the Mrs. We've sat crying with laughter at your shows and television appearances. 15 storeys high was incredible. Thanks Sean

So sad, one of my favourite comedians. One of the few that has had me crying so hard with laughter that I couldn't breathe.
Wherever you are Sean, may you have a constant supply of whelks and may there always be a carrot in your box.

Such sad news at the loss of a very funny and dry witted comedian.
At the moment the 8 out of 10 cats does countdown shows are shown every night at 7.30pm here in Australia and they have been a highlight during our never ending lockdowns.
The two YouTube episodes above were shown over the past week here and I was in stitches. I'm suprised the Rachel Riley comment wasn't cut from the programme but he just said what most of us thought.
We need all the laughs we can get at the moment so the loss of Sean will be hugely missed. RIP

Absolutely gutted me this news has, not been this upset about the passing of a comedian since the death of Rik Mayall.
I'm so glad to see 15 Storey's getting numerous mentions, it's such an underrated & criminally under watched comedy masterpiece. There's been some great clips of Sean on this thread and I was up late last night watching clip after clip on Twitter and YouTube.
There's one clip that always stands out for me and it's a clip from Cat's does Countdown where Sean and Miles Jupp are discussing the reward for the winner of the next section of the show...

His delivery of that (in fact everything) was pure brilliance, in stitches. What a sad loss.

The only person that's cheered me up after their death. The news was upsetting on Tuesday morning, but I watched a few clips and hadn't laughed so much in ages. I realised my life had been missing Sean Lock in the past year or so. Me and my bro' played a tiny part in one of Sean Lock's standup routines at Stafford Gatehouse many years ago, so that'll always be a great memory. Probably the most genius comedian I've watched? And a rarity in that he was probably even funnier on panel shows than anything else. Generally the highlight of any TV or radio program he was on. A nice tribute from Harry Hill here: www.theguardian.com/stage/2021/aug/18/harry-hill-on-sean-lock-comedians-comedian-took-us-by-surprise
