I'm dead chuffed for brentford, really pleased. Anyone who beats the Arsenal is in my good booooks. Got me thinking though of way back when we were in div 3, and they had a decent side too ( at that level), I'm talking the macari years. We were locking horns together towards the top of div 3, and they had a really useful forward/ winger.... 🤔 Think his name was Ricky otto or something like that, and he went on to play for " Barry fry's" Birmingham City. Just mewsing really.

Thought the second goal was very like Stoke in Prem early days, long throw, strength, determination and team spirit. They even play in red & white stripes.

In your first season you can get buy with hard work, a little luck and your novelty with largely the same group you went up with. Much harder after that when you have to start replacing your original group and get caught up in the Premier League shenanigans.

Teams work you out after the first season and you have to evolve , Sheffield Utd as an example, we somehow bucked the trend , I’m thinking wolves and Leeds to go down this season, here’s hoping

Arsenal epitomise the phrase “weak as piss”
They have done since we used to turn them over at the brit
You’d think they’d strive to rectify it one day
Classless with no bollocks

Like Brentford myself out of all the London clubs along with Charlton and orient. Was a great awayday at Griffin Park aswell with the pub on each corner of the ground. Good luck to them I say hope they upset a few of the big boy wankers this season as we did when we went up that first season. Looking at their team have they spent anything this summer? I remember going to watch stoke at the old Wembley v these in around year 2000, I've still got the red & white flag on a stick with a picture the old Wembley stadium in the middle on it from that day I'm not sure mate if they have. I am sure though you are talking about the playoff final which was at the millennium stadium in Cardiff as Wembley was being built then.

Oh right, I could have sworn it was at the old Wembley, me and my mate went on a Dudson drawing pot bank arranged coach, no drinking allowed but we were necking vodka in coke bottles we must have been barely 18. It would have been around

I must be thinking of another game we went to and played Brentford in around that time, we won it 2-0 or 2-1, must have been a aignificant game with remembering it. Maybe it was to get to the final

Arsenal had no attacking threat with their two best attacking players ill and their defense woeful. White looked out of his depth and wouldnt you just fancy getting up them. Next two games could see them bottom of the table with a hard season ahead.

Crazy to see Brentford playing Premiership football, growing up they were a nothing club, a run of the mill league 1 fixture. Arsenal players look 3rd grade compared to what they used to be See also Bournemouth. But then again, I remember Oldham having a few seasons in the top flight in the early 90s. look at them now
