One of those where some folk assumed he was born in the area he must firstly be a football fan and secondly support his local team when neither are true His burslem roots n the vale park gig had me thinking he was. although Motorhead played (easily the loudest thing ever in the area, could hear them miles & miles away) they we're just one of the acts

I've heard a rumour that the club has finally put a painted design on that big grey wall by the South Stand. Is there any truth in this? It would be great to think they've finally done something with it. It looks so bland and dull. Going back to the original post...no it hasn't been painted and its still grey.

Other clubs have plenty of murals/signs/artwork around their grounds to give their stadiums a rich sense of history. Why can't we?

Wembley stadium had plenty of dull grey walls on Sunday so hey, let's moan to the FA about that too. Have a look around the east stand and there is plenty of artwork on the walls of Stoke players...however it's a wall ffs.

Are you getting mixed up with Slash mate? He left Blurton when he was a similar age. Lemmy lived in Madeley until he was 10 then moved to Wales when his mum remarried. no I've got mixed up with him leaving Burslem don't think he had any interest in football (appreciate that's no barrier to supporting Vale) or the area generally He said once that Stoke was a great place to move away from.

Why does any prospective artwork have to be of former players? Couldn't we do something that focuses on our supporters for a change?
I suggest a mural of one or more of our fans moaning their ballbags clean off about anything and everything.
If course, this'll never happen given the short-sightedness of those running the club.
Fucking wank Stoke.

I think us as fans have missed a trick.
How come no one has drawn a huge spunking cock and balls?

Our history Is quite grey to be fair so does reflect it in a way. Not a priority but an idea, yep.

It would have been great for supporters to come back and seen something new there.

Wasn't Slash just off Finstock Av, did he family in the area, he wasn't born in Stoke was he In his autobiography he writes very warmly about growing up and going to school in Blurton, how he was welcome in many friends' homes, and felt no discrimination at being mixed race . His Dad was from Blurton, his mum from ?LA USA. He kept his promise to come back and play in Stoke - a great night - and was well 'stoked' when we got to the cup final. I think we can count him as a supporter.
