I'll say one thing about Bamber and Curruthers it wasn't for the want of trying as poor as their goal scoring records were they did at least give 100% Just imagine how bad Bamber would have been if he hadn't tried Vokes, yes Vokes, would have scored a hatful with the crosses that Bamber got from Beagrie and Hackett And Tony Ford, he was an excellent crosser of the ball, I'm still not sure a Vokes now with the service of those we speak of could cut it, 5 years ago maybe, we got Vokes at the right time for him a last big pay packet and a wrong one for us an aging player who has just signed his pension fund.

Controversial: I don't think Charlie Adam is what would pass as fat in most normal humans. By today's pencil thin footballing standards he carries a bit of timber, but yeah. Wouldn't welcome him to sit on me but, y'know. Still tens time the player of fucking Vokes, who I suspect has a lower BMI.

Definitely wouldn’t call him “fat” but for me he’s definitely in the Rooney camp of players, where he’s probably missed an extra 10% of his potential by not training and eating properly. Fantastic footballer having said that though - worth every penny of what we paid for him.

Their firm Dundee utility joined forces with us when we went up Scotland, prevented any ambush and when they came down we repaid the favour

On sky at the moment PO against Kilmarnock, just put a peach of a ball through for the first goal, my God he is fatter than ever but still more mobile than Sam Vokes and still twice a player. Charlie was a very good player for us...got stuck in when needed...could provide a killer pass and he scored a few too. You don’t realise what you had until it’s gone...he is was way better than any midfielder we have now.

Is there any thread where somebody doesn’t have a pop at Sam Vokes? Quite pathetic. I agree. He is quite pathetic. Needs to move on to a club who play a style that suits him.

One particular match he tried to control the ball in the centre circle and ran it out of play over the Butler Street Paddock byline, I kid you not. I still smile at my old mans nickname every time Bamber has been mentioned over the years. RIP Old Man

Pity we didn’t have him this season, he would have kicked the arses of all the players that didn’t give a @@@@ Maybe. There'd barely be anyone left...we'd be forced to play Charlie in goal, at rightback, central midfield, right wing, left wing, centreforward all at the same time...

Is there really any professional club that would take him, I would if possible cancel his contract we can't even give him away and carry on paying all of his grossly inflated salary.

Folk going on about how he was responsible for our relegation season should check the facts. He started 5 games. Can a player who plays 5 games in a season really be the explanation for a team's relegation?

A lot of senior pros of which he was one have been very vocal about the likes of Jese, Cheapo Moting and others. They were wise after the event yet were all a part of the dressing room yet never took the bad eggs to task. They just mouthed off after on Radio, Media outlets and Podcasts. Never for a moment was i suggesting he was culpable for our relegation, what i am saying is that he talks the talk, maybe he did take players to task in the squad, we'll never know. Somehow i doubt it.

Adam rushing to slag off Shaqiri of all players after a season where he failed to get himself into a condition to start more than 5 games, and was absolutely dreadful towards the back end of the season, will always grate for me. And generally I liked him as a player for us.
Of course players like Adam were not the root cause of just how bad the dressing room and performances got, but he got that completely wrong.

Great player absolutely love him. Favorate player I agree. Years ago we went all the way to Freiburg in Germany pre-season and Charlie was one of the VERY few who came to acknowledge our presence at the end of the game. The rest just traipsed off as if we weren't there. Lots of respect for him.
