Clutching at straws but the last time we started at home to Reading and went to Barnsley on Boxing Day we made the play-offs... Clutching at straws is an understatement.

Midweek away games: Swansea (yet again) Preston Blackpool (quelle suprise) Bristol City Cardiff City Blackburn Wednesday night in November for the trip to Ashton Gate, is diabolical for us SW Stokies. It’s our big day out. Last time we hired a boat taking 50 of us on a pub crawl around the harbour, that certainly won’t be happening this season! BM

First game at home, last game at home, two out of three of the Christmas/New Year week games at home…some people will moan about anything.

Fucking wank Stoke, typical of how shambolic we are. We’re a laughing stock. Scholes out.

Blackpool away, a midweek in November, you just knew it Time with a trip to the lights after the game should be quieter a positive. With 3 Lancashire based away games in midweek easier to get to for me. Possibly miss the home midweek games to the far south teams who bring their 150 - 200 fans and no atmosphere though that could be Swansea and Bournemouth on a Saturday.

Nice to see we've got 46 fixtures again, although 38 would have been preferred. Annoyed we've got to play Derby again, but you can't have everything.

Hope it has not been posted already but does anyone have a link to the thingy that puts the fixtures into your Google calendar? Not that they won't change a million times before the season is out!

Midweek aways .. some genuine disappointments , but TBH no great surprises …
Blackpool ,we’ll that’s no surprise , think 80% or more could have predicted that one
others all seem to be police influenced , all have some history of either midweek in the past or trouble or both ..so given crowds have been away for 18 months and some games may end up being bigger occasions , than they merit at first glance the ‘potentials’ or those with a sniff of history have been treated accordingly
it does mean some great trips have been ruined and produced a couple of pig of a journey home , when the weather might not be at its best
But they are what they are .. and even if they’d have been all midweek that’d still be a damn sight better than last seasons write off non event

I think the events of that 5.30pm Preston game a few years back have put the nail in the coffin for a 3pm kick off for Blackpool.
