I just think people have very short memories and too high expectations of this poor squad that we have. If we had a strike force we would be much further up the table but would still be a poor side. Everyone is too impatient. Building a football team takes time, it is not Instant, like Coffee. People constantly compare our Manager, team, budget etc. with whatever shows him as not performing well. Flavour of the month is what it says it is. We've already signed flavour of the month managers with poor results. We're told we should do what Barnsley and Brentford do when evaluating players we should sign. Yet when we do this with Brown we are crucified for it.

Is this the rate MON thread or the tell people to f*** off for having an opinion thread? I get the two mixed up. Just fed up of moaning cunts to be honest. Even when we get a win with half a squad missing there’s some absolute bollocks that gets posted. Fair enough but on this particular thread each week if everyone gives high marks because they're happy we won it makes it a bit pointless. I'm interested to see people's reasons for low/high marks. Now if people moan on the "Are you happy we won?" thread that's a slightly different matter. I for one am ecstatic pretty much every time we win 🙂

I did enjoy the result, that doesn't mean it was a great game, it was pretty poor, Derby were shite, we were better but we need to be playing better than we did. I think the players/set up hampered that but thats just my opinion. Thick tossers = people with a different opinion, you need to chill oput a bit Wasn’t particularly aimed at you, just don’t get why there’s any need to be particularly negative after such an easy win. Because it’s their opinion not yours , not everyone likes negative dour football and the constant picking of favourite players

Because it’s their opinion not yours , not everyone likes negative dour football and the constant picking of favourite players I could understand the negative and dour angle, if our football was negative or dour, which it wasn’t yesterday. We played it quickly and caught them off guard a number of times. If we were holding it aimlessly at the striker, that would be dour and although I don’t love passing it around for the sake of it either, yesterday wasn’t dour. We did what we had to do to beat a Derby side who came for a point when they really needed 3! It was a routine, deserved win where we had loads of the ball.

We passed the bill around pretty well but did you honestly think we were quick? It was destined to be 0-0 until one bit of Powell magic.

Middlesbrough was another blip but more a defensive horror show.

We were bright with it at times, mainly from dead ball situations. There were 2/3 occasions in the first half where the Derby commentary noticed we didn’t hang about and caught them in behind. Rooney probably wasn’t far wrong in his assessment of the game feeling like a testimonial, it wasn’t much of a spectacle but the only thing worth watching was us. It was another solid performance following on from Tuesday and he’s got us back on track quickly, with a distinct lack of options.

Neither side looked like they would score in a month Sunday’s and like they weren’t trying to. A poor spectacle but thankfully we won.

7 from me, win and a clean sheet. Disappointed Norton didn't get some time as I'm interested to see more of him. Would we have won if he had been on the field instead of Brown? Who knows. 3 points and onwards.

11 - whilst everyone on here was losing their head demanding substitutions because shrek made 3 himself, O'Neill kept his head and held off making any changes until they were absolutely necessary due to fatigue or knocks. We are very lucky to have such a cool, composed and shrewd manager. Make that a 12 actually! I'm not sure that the delay in making our subs was for the reason you gave. When Shrek made 3 subs at once it made sense to me to delay our subs for a few minutes to see exactly what effect Shrek's subs were having.

7.5. Given the players missing through injury he put out a side which he hoped would dominate the game and it did.
My only change would have been to play with 4 at the back given how poor Derby are as a side. That would have given us the option of another forward player and I don't think Norton would have disgraced himself if he had been that player. I hope to see Coates, Varian, Norton and Forrester given some game time in what is left of the season - relegation is now a very distant possibility as is a play off place. Now is the chance to see what some of our best U23 players can do.

7 - Boring game, but we were the better side, won't get any better until we find a goal scorer and someone who can put a decent ball into the box. it isn't just missing chances but the decision making around the box is lamentable.

10 for the win and clean sheet.
4 for the line up (play wingers and full backs, not wing-backs) and entertainment value.
7 overall.

5 Far too negative. He could have made changes early in the second half to go for it. Try some of the kids. Yes we won, but that was mostly down to Derby being completely shite, and us not being quite as shite as them due to Powel. What would you have given him if he'd done exactly as you suggest, made early changes (presumably taken Brown off), tried some of the kids and one of them made a mistake allowing Derby to break away and score the only goal of the game? An 8, because he did what you think he should have done?
