no amount of money would be enough for having to be in a certain place, at a certain time, six days a week until i'm 65. Even if that place was Rachel Riley's

That's an offer I'd seriously have to consider (as I'm sure, would also many others). £100k in return for one year standing on Stoke station 10 mins per day, followed by 12 months bird ... it's extremely tempting! 😉 I don’t think that’s enough cash for a year inside! I’m more along the lines of thinking I’d just do it, for a handsome enough salary. So it would have to be enough to live in a nice house somewhere leafy in the region and take frequent weekend breaks around Europe without expense really being an impediment. Could even have a property in the south of France or something and join the family out there for two- or three-day stretches during holidays. Get the kids set up, not so they don’t have to work or anything, just not to have to worry about uni fees, good deposit for a house etc... plus you get the benefit of all the free time and then a dream retirement. I think I’d do it for 300k a year. But you're going to have to do three years in prison if you find you can't hack it. It makes a huge difference if you agree to the contract at aged 40, rather than at aged 60.

If I can't hack it I'll just throw myself onto the tracks one day

Last time I responded to a job opportunity like this I ended up at the wrong end of a glory hole. If this is the same caper again I'll accept nothing less than time and a half plus allowance for PPE provision.
