He's thought highly of at SUFC and apparently signed a new contract there 4 weeks ago
They are going to be in the Championship next year so I cant imagine they would be selling their best LB prospect.
Closer to home seems a good rationale.
Its good for us because we have a player who has so far proven hinself at this level.

Sorry Jones, your boy is leaving to join a bigger club and you know all about that. With that in mind you can't really complain, as it would make you a massive hypocrite. All the best Nath. I fully agree that we’re a bigger club. Bizarrely, when Jones first arrived, I got the impression the Luton faithful didn’t... It would be like us getting annoyed at MON for “sideways move” if Solksjaer gets the sack and MON takes over. Yeah they were all over our social media proclaiming otherwise. The thing they hang onto is that we’ve both won the same amount of cups. Nothing about their various seasons in the non league though.

Maybe Sheffield have put a bid in for Wimmer to humanely dispose of their matchday pie surplus before they go off?

I heard this on good authority. His last game he played really well, had a huge influence on the teams result. Jones came running on the pitch banging his chest, then slapped Rhys across the face. Rhys looked at him, called him a bellend. Picked the phone up and asked Wilder to get him out of there, it’s fucking weird he said. Everyone walks around like gorillas when we win

I thought they'd stopped that given their injuries But I meant defensive systems I'm not sure to be honest, are they? What are the similarities? I know they play a 3-5-2 but I hadn't noticed any similarities either way between how they play and we play? Not sure Maybe he wants him used to playing with red and white stripes then.

I like that he’s Championship ready and can step straight in - don’t normally get that with loan signing. The dynamic with Fox will be a bit weird - wonder if the intention is to upgrade the position in the summer with Fox as cover?

What if we get promoted (with Rhys proving to be a key player) while Sheff Utd go down? Rhys will feel he has earned his stripes to be a Premier League player. With the influx of PL money, we could afford to make it a permanent deal.

A left back coming in allows Batth and Lindsay to go as Fox, when fit can cover there too

Suppose it may come down, as Prestwich says, to what the player wants. There's a loan release clause, and he's keen to exploit it to move to Stoke, somewhere he'd prefer to be? Maybe he just wants to feel more at home in Wales-on-Trent...

You can only really assume that he's not enjoying living down there and wants to be closer to home. Otherwise it's just a very strange move. Even if it's a wage/fee thing, it's not going to amount to a lot come the end of the season? It's not like we will have offered another 500K or anything to make it worth their while.

Just spoke to friend who played at Rochdale with him. Says he’s a quality left back who’s quick with good delivery and good decision maker

Having two left backs means we can bin off 532 nothing wrong with 532 (or any system) but it doesn't suit us attacking wise 4 at the back suits Stoke best

Would just be a loan then. Must see Fox as the long term solution. Can a player be loaned to 2 different clubs in the same season?

Maybe we’ll see a RWB come in to allow us to play it properly alongside Doughty.

Being scouted 10 times by NJ and a glowing reference isn't a positive for me. Let's just hope the other references are correct.

I think the rule is you can't play for more than 2 clubs in a season Jey. So as long as he didn't play for Sheff early on we're owrate. You'd expect Big To to be all over such minutiae.
