Bang average first half. Piss-poor second half.

5. Not got a lot to choose from at the moment but he should be getting more out of that side against that opposition

A poor line up which gave a predictably poor performance.

Like the performance actually deserved!
Lucky to get a point from a shit Forest side but we were actually worse.

2. One mark because aI know people who know him and say what a wonderful bloke he is and 1 Mark because he had pulled us out of the mire. For the last few games I just can’t fathom how he was even trying to win them apart from relying on a lucky break. Once again selection, formation and substitutions were equally baffling. One of the strengths and weaknesses of a football supporter is blind loyalty. Come on Mick, you gave me the hope, now you give me the realisation

The thread is “rate O’Neil” Leave Verlinden and Cousins out of the equation. 1. Name your starting 11 tonight from the players available. Who would you drop/rest and who would you replace them with? 2. Is it down to MON when players can’t complete a simple pass?
Asking for a friend Some of the time yes, some no. When you're all sat back in a line it limits the options for a pass and makes it easy for the oppo to cut it out as they already know where its going, zero runs to make them think twice or to create space for the player on the ball, but sometimes its down to crap passing like putting it straight out for throw in twice when the guy is right in front of you.

7 decent effort to earn a point without Fletcher, Campbell and Fox - forcing McClean to play LWB and further reducing the attacking options. Decided he would take the long view and start the process of getting Allen, Clucas and Mikel match fit - all 3 are some way off for sure. He decided a few weeks ago to try and hang on to the top 6 until he can bring in a couple of attacking reinforcements in Jan who with a fit midfield gives him a chance of a strong second half of the season.

He played Volkes and Brown up top for some reason. There was no pace on the flanks. Verlinden or Ince needed to start. He seemed more intent on not losing the game rather than winning it. Worst performance of the year by far and it was mainly due to team selection and tactics 2

4 from me, far too cautious and playing Vokes again is madness, nothing changes.
My main gripe however is when the game starts going against us, his subs are more of the same, he doesn’t try to change the shape, approach or tempo of the game with different type of players.
He needs to mix things up more and to ring the changes and take more risks.

Our passing ability is simply appalling, not just in tonight's game but, for me, an ongoing issue for a large part of this season.

The tactical plan seemed to be for McClean and Smith to play the ball down the channels and hit crosses for Vokes as the target man? It’s not the 90s anymore Michael, and we don’t have the personnel for the old direct “in the mixer” stuff.
First half we were okay. Second half was awful, tedious drudgery to watch, with poor choice of subs and a miracle we didn’t lose (thanks Joe Bursik).
1 from me.

2 we're not Northern Ireland! They were expected to get beaten every week so he set up to not lose.. I'm not going to comment on Stoke, since I don't know very much about them.
And in the meantime, it's probably better if you didn't comment on NI, since it's obvious you know absolutely fuck-all about us.

P.S. For all those who gave Michael a 0, what mark would you have given him had Stoke lost?

of course we still need to support Mon, but getting increasingly difficult to understand his use of subs and a puzzling lack of boldness.

despite pulling us out of the mire a year ago and getting us a chance of the play offs he is just too negative in his mind set still from his N Ireland days hopefully with most of the squad getting back to full fitness and a couple of new signing to freshen the squad up he can make a fist of having a go for the top 6 no reason at all why we can't make it

5 from me. He's trying to play a game by bringing back players who have been injured and need game time to get fit. It backfired on him because not only were those players rusty as hell but those who were fit looked just as knackered as those coming back from injury. We were lucky not to have another long term injury on the books from that over the top tackle by the dirty bastard who who should/could have been red carded twice. Thank God for Bursik. He earned us a lucky point last night. And, ferfuxache, can we get those damned advertising boards sorted. We could have had another serious injury because of the damned things.
OS.

2 - Another infuriatingly negative display against a side low on confidence and quality. Put anyone at left back and play 4-2-3-1 and we win the game. I can’t believe an injury to Morgan fecking Fox has led to a complete change in formation. Come on Michael, show us ya balls!!😏
