The Tories vowed to get tough on terror after 7/11 and then waver like the incompetent cunts they are when it comes to action. They have no policies, they just look for bandwagons.

I have nothing to add to this debate, other than i wish New Labour would stop messing about and just take a massive dump on the Magna Carta. They could do that and nobody would care, the average shmo probably thinks the magna carta is a brand of ice cream, the dumbed down masses are begging for the Orwellian police, nanny, surveillance state, they love it.

Fuck it, I’m not editing my original post, I’m sticking with 7/11. It’s when Osama and Cameron were on Question Time and Cameron vowed to crack down and be tough on terror.

I'm not going to get embroiled in a massive debate on this, i think ID card opinions are already entrenched. But i will say this: If ID cards are ever introduced as law in this country, i'll emigrate. That's how strongly i feel about it and nothing would ever change my mind. The mere thought that a government wants to know where i am, what i'm doing or where i've been i find morally and pollitically repugnant, and should we ever move from our current benign political state the ramifications of such a scheme are too cataclysmic to contemplate. Men and Women have died to afford us the liberties we enjoy today, the thought that a government could remove them from us with an uninformed populous endorsing it with a hearty "I've got nothing to hide" is, in my opinion, tantamount to treason. Other than that, i have no strong opinion either way

There’s another reason on my list to introduce ID cards, it would mean vestan fucking off from this country.
That’s a nice little bonus along with the obvious one of tackling terrorists hell bent on killing innocent people.

I'm not getting into an argument about this, we'll agree to disagree.
How a fucking card is going to stop international terrorism is beyond me...unless we only make British Asians carry them, like the Germans did with the jews in the late 1930's?

'as is the norm with rich-bastard-tories-on-the-gravy-train'
Neil Kinnock, Glynis Kinnock, Peter Mandelson.....
I think you're suffering from a selective memory disorder?
Most Tories are already rich. Most Labour types make themselves rich thanks to the tax payer.
BTW - you're right, Davis is a complete knob!

They had them in spain and it didn't stop the 03 train bombings. If there is another attack in this country the debate is over, governments LOVE crisis, they will push through all there most draconian legislation next time we get hit.
