He’s played on the left way more than the right throughout his career so far. He can play on either. Difficult game for him, yeah. But then MON probably wouldn't have had him down as someone to bring on when you're down to ten anyway. Despite that, talent is there in abundance. The fact that he makes a game that's clearly lost already worth staying tuned in for, says something for the ability he has. Most exciting player to watch in the squad... But I'd still only have him on the bench Saturday 🤔😂 I think he has to be. As someone else put further up, he’s totally different to anyone else we have.

Of course. It’s the rest of it that is questionable. He’s not seen as “left wing choice” because of Jones. He’s seen as a left winger because that’s where he’s played most of his football. I think I'm right in saying he played on the left for his loan period at Bolton? That doesn't make it his best position btw. I haven't seen enough of him tbh From the stuff I watched he did and it’s where he played predominantly for our u18s and u23s. He can play equally as well off either wing imo.

I haven't seen enough of him tbh 10 starts on the left for Bolton and 2 on the right. In his club career to date (including u-23 games) he's played 31 times on the right, 28 on the left and 5 in "other" positions. For Belgium under 19's however he's started 10 on the right and only 1 on the left......

Hemfrey also did ok positional wise the keeper who played 80 mins, just checked the teamsheet as i did not know who had come on in goal.

The only thing that was noticeable with him was how weak (literally) his kicking was. Which signals a good game imo. Did everything he needed to. Good positioning as you say, good hands on crosses and didn’t really have a save to make.

But it's my opinion he's best on the right. I have the right to say that, right? Of course. It’s the rest of it that is questionable. He’s not seen as “left wing choice” because of Jones. He’s seen as a left winger because that’s where he’s played most of his football. Bolton might have played him there but I wouldn't take that as recommendation. His "most of his football" has been a sorry state, because of all the injuries, some minor, some major. He has never really settled into the team, which at 21 is where it gets critical. So he should be looking at breaking into the first team (squad) this season and staying there. He may not get to the Clucas plays every time stage, but he should make the most of his opportunities. Tonight wasn't his first game back after his lay off, as some were implying. His comeback has been ongoing for a while, and tonight was the game where he could have shown O'Neill that he's ready and willing to die for the team. But a man down after 10 minutes Thibo disappeared at times, so the team was really playing with nine men. Maybe he's looked at Ince and thought I should not touch the ball, like Tom does... What type of player do you think O'Neill wants for his team as it progresses? One who may not be a world beater but can be relied on to fight for the team's cause or one who cannot be relied upon and at times plays for himself? Well until I saw his attitude at times tonight I would have hoped that deep down the answer would have been Thibo. It may be yet, a lot further down the line. But it's not enough to do tricks on the wing. His attitude has to be right too.

If you ignore the first half he might have redeemed himself somewhat in the second. But I expected better from him. He's actually one of the older guys in the team. He should lead, not hide. He had some runs but there was no threat to Villa from him.

He carried the threat we had in a game we were playing with 10 men. I mean he literally set up the best chance of the game we had that should have resulted in a penalty but ok.
