Not much of Nobby, but all guts and fight. A true little warrior. RIP, Nobby.

Wasn't it Nobby who, when asked about the Portugal team, said "they're good players but they can't take stick"? RIP Legend.

Nobby's son told a heartbreaking/uplifting story about going to visit him. For dementia people there's a thing called sport therapy. In short, if you liked a sport you remember details of things from yonks ago and it's therapeutic to reminisce about it all. So his son took a dvd of the shit playing Chelsea from the 60s. Nobby's face lit up as he recognised the game.and himself. He talked of what a wonderful player Peter Osgood was. Then he turned to his son, smiled and asked 'How are you son?' For a few moments he got his dad back. It shows how embedded in our psyches football is and how horrible dementia is. RIP Nobby. 😪

400 games for Man U under Matt Busby, 2 League Champions Winners Medals, European Cup Winners Medal and the ultimate, a World Cup Winner.
Make no mistake, Nobby was some player, that's for sure.

Just reading Gary Neville's autobiography
When he was starting in the first team , his old youth team coach , Nobby Stiles , would come over just before the kick off and say ...
Remember lad , your best friends out there are your six studs
He meant it too , he was small in stature , but a tiger on the pitch
He was old school . Polite off the pitch but willing to mix it with anyone from the first whistle to the last
Quite right too .It's so boring and poor , when players get this the wrong way round , and are bolshie off the pitch and quiet on it .

For me the tragedy is we are losing our footballing gods. We have so few few truly great players who won the trophies that matter; the World Cup and European cup. Only Sir Bobby remains. Nobby was true great, world cup winner and European champion. When they all go, WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BE WORLD CHAMPIONS AGAIN? I am sick and tired of being second best in the thing we love the most!

When England won the World Cup back in 1966 Wembley must have been a sea of smiles Well, I think Kenneth Wolstenholme summed up the moment really well When he said "Just look at Nobby Stiles"
RIP Nobby

RIP never rated him though sorry You should have let Ramsey and Busby know they were wasting a place in the team when they won the world cup and the European cup.
