Says he wants to play in England, preferably in the Prem.
I know his name has been flying around on twitter as a long-shot target.
Does anyone think he's got anything to offer at this stage of his career?
Doesn't seem to make any sense on paper with Campbell/Brown and our gaggle of high-earning other forwards.
But if we could shift a few, would he be worth a go on the right deal - whatever the right deal is for a 31 year-old with his injury record.

If you're asking me would I take Sturridge if I could offload Gregory and Voakes the answer would be a resounding yes.....

I would have him if we can axe one of Vokes or Gregory. Better yet both.

As per above.
Yes if one or both of vokes or Gregory departs.

How has he ended up at Kidsgrove? Seems mad

Another over-the-hill 30+ year old is the last thing we need.
Of course not. Imagine having Campbell, Brown and Sturridge as options across a front three. I wouldn't get too excited though, as we've been burned too many times recently, with Ince and Afobe just two not living up to expectations.

Far too injury prone for the money he'll be on.

Others have covered it, really - get rid of at least two of Ince, Vokes and Gregory, give him a one year deal with an option of a second, on a pay as you play deal with bonuses for every goal and if we get promoted. I can see lower Prem clubs offering him a better deal than that, the likes of Burnley, Sheff Utd, Villa, Fulham, WBA, Palace.

12 month pay as you play, with the option for us to extend if he plays x games, is the only sensible thing here. Even then I’d be a bit ‘meh’.

I wonder if they've signed him on as a non contract player and he turns out for them in the FA trophy at Cambridge City tomorrow, that would be a bit of a story. Probably not as it may hamper him signing on for another team or two.

Would have to be a pay as you play deal. Big bonuses for goals and assists.

If he is living in Congleton you'd have thought that Burnley, Wolves, West Brom or Villa would suit him in terms of what they could offer financially combined with an easy daily commute. As pretty well everyone else has said - get rid of at least 2 of: Ince, Gregory and Vokes to free up wages, and a heavily incentivised contract with a modest basic plus bonuses for appearances and goals, would suit us down to the ground. We would suit him in terms of the commute but you'd have to assume that one of the 4 prem clubs I mentioned in para 1 would suit him better in terms of cash and status. Of course, if St Peter flexes his dong who knows what will happen!

Never going to happen and absolutely shouldn't. He would take about a month to get up to speed and any other signings should be up to speed and ready to hit the ground running.

Not so sure at this stage. 16 appearances last season, none for 90 minutes, and look at the rich array of injuries and complaints that befell him along the way: I guess he managed to pick up a few goals and assists but still not convinced any Prem club will think it's worth it.

There’s a reason he’s ended up training at Kidsgrove. He’s going to struggle to get fixed up anywhere unless it’s some kind of pay as you play deal. He was very close to coming here in our relegation season.
