Dear bayernoatcake, If you think that my comment above represents ME being critical of Mama's ability, try reading it again. If that fails, try again.....then again.....then again..... For the record, for several years, Mama was everything that was good about the club; he was treated like shit, yet he tried his guts out, even on those increasingly rare occasions when he got on the pitch (usually in a position that was alien to him), and he always had a smile for everyone. A small piece of advise; try not to rush to judgement on other people's comment until you fully understand what they are saying. It makes you look like a bit of a dick. if you read it back I believe Bayern is quoting you and agreeing with your point.

Good on him, Diouf deserves to have a bit of fortune after we've dragged him down with us. He has a great attitude of which I wish most our current crop of lads had. And to think we got him on a free and paid £9m for fat Sam

Possibly however if you factor in the £9m we paid for Vokes on top of the £33k a week we are paying him, consider the return on both I would imagine Mama would look like good value compared to scintillating Sam, talk about deadwood he's a small copse worth on his own but he still keeps getting game time !

That was the market, l guess. We get a £7/8 million player for 'free' and you have to pay him a salary of million a year more than he's probably worth. We're just about up on the deal everything considered.

Even now I believe he’d have been much more useful than Vokes, Gregory, Afobe or probably Brown. Second top scorer in Turkey with 18 goals in 34 matches suggests he’s got his mojo back.I wonder if MON is aware of that stat.

Such a waste. No one would have ever met his wages on loan

I’ll never understand why Hughes spent 12 months chasing him, got him, played him, he got the most league goals from a Stoke player in a single season in the PL then barely used him up front after that season.

Me too and glad you raised it, it was as if the fans forgot that small detail while we still raved about walters and crouch with his 7 goals a season. Had to still laugh at Crouch slating off Choupo-Moting off that season, especially as crouch waded in with 5 goals that year.

Even more baffling for me was three managers in the Championship not really using him. I guess there must have been a reason and maybe it needed a fresh start elsewhere. "He's turned into one of the most lethal strikers in Europe" is pushing it a bit, though I'm pleased he's doing well.

Their record for the games they played was poor. Diouf missed chances for sure but still scored plenty. It was just really strange how we treated him. And he was actually alright at right back too.

One of the smartest players on the pitch. Always in the right spot. Certainly had some execution problems, and I guess our management couldn't get beyond that..

great to see him still playing and also having an extended purple patch. Potentially one of the few that had we kept we would have benefited from keeping them.

And when he did play up front rarely put the ball to him so he was running in behind, and rarely crossed to him even though we was probably better then crouch in the air.

He would still have been a better option than Brown, and I still can't understand why he was forced out. He always gave his all for the team and we wouldn't have needed to spend a lot of money to replace him (Afobe!!!). The only thing I can think of is his wages, but as I see it he would have been perfect for the Championship. Was never given a real opportunity to shine after our relegation.
