Can anyone at least attempt to explain what pleasure some people get out of doing something like this? As a species we have a lot to answer for.

Disgusting behaviour I'm ashamed.
As a species we won't go down very well in this Earth's history is all I'll say.

This is awful. People never fail to dissapoint. No doubt the characters that do this are the ones who’ve been out constantly breaching covid19 . They have no fear of consequences on more just a slap on the wrist if they get caught.

There seems to be something buried deep within the human psych which causes our like to enjoy causing other animals pain and sorrow.
Examples which spring to mind include (I'm sure there are many more) bull fighting, hunting with hounds, bearbating and their like where the fear and pain felt by the victim is either the whole point of the exercise or, at least, adds to the pleasure felt by humankind.
Perhaps one day the gene or specific part of our dna can be neutered or bred out although that in its self could lead to territory that we shouldn’t visit.

We've extinct 1 million animal and plant species and are dwindling numbers of many others still. I understand for humanity to thrive as it has some of this is inevitable but how much was unnecessary or avoidable. Such a shame.

This is just sickening Every day there seems to be more and more stories that pop up in the news that make my heart sink! Slightly off topic but still human behavior.. Just yesterday there were pictures of Ilam and all the rubbish left by its visitors from the weekend. What has gone so wrong with folk these days that they feel it's right to do these things, leave THEIR SHIT everywhere.. Cruelty to these swans etc Absolute scum and lowest of the low

I'd be happy to see some paving slabs raining down on these wankers to see how they like it, but lets try not to let the fuckwit minority drag us down. The vast majority of people in this country are very kind to animals, far more so than in most other countries. We spend more on dog and bird food for example, than anywhere else.

Went for a walk through Barleston Downs on Sunday. Passed a bin that was overflowing with dog shit bags and general rubbish, scummers had just piled up the same around the base. TAKE IT FUCKIN HOME YOU IDLE C**TS. Never ceases to amaze me how people will quite happily carry heavy full bottles, cartons etc to where they're going but find it too much of an effort to carry the empty and therefore lighter containers home. Does my head in! 🤨

He's not doing a very good job if there is.

I'm sufficiently conscientious to pick up my dog's poo,but i'm not so diligent a dog owner as to dispose of it in one of the local authority bins provided,or my household bin,so when no one's looking,i'm going to lob it over a fence, into a field etc...?

What really pisses me off the most is people like the one who posted that tweet assuming everyone and everything is bad because of the actions of the tiny minority.
It's reckoned that nearly 60% of the world's population own a pet. The vast majority of them treat them lovingly. But "we're scum" because some feral twat commits a senseless act. Do me a favour.
She probably thinks all football fans are hooligans, all Muslims are terrorists and all the black people protesting in America at the moment are looters.

Could be, a lot of the ones I've seen have been at the side of paths, in places where it would seem to have been less bother for them to get a stick and flick their dogs shit into the undergrowth to be honest. I also wonder why horse riders are alright just to toddle off leaving a big pile of horse shit in their wake, it's like they think there's still some bloke in a flat cap scurrying gratefully behind them with a shovel and a bucket.

He's not doing a very good job if there is. In our village it’s a constant problem with some dog owners. If it isn’t dog shit it’s the random killing of lambs over the spring which is far worse this year due to people coming from Plymouth to use our public footpaths in the countryside. No manner of warning signs, graphic photos on out Village FB page seems to deter irresponsible dog owners. In fact it seems to encourage them as if they are trying to wind up residents. In one weekend alone 5 lambs were slaughtered by dogs across our parish. On the subject of litter me and the Mrs walked from Plymouth Barbican up to the Hoe and back by the Citadel this afternoon and more than half of the benches and seats we passed had empty drinks cans, plastic bags etc just left by the seats. This despite bins every 50m or so along the route. A council refuse van was driving by and the chap said that his sole job for the last 2 weeks was driving around Barbican and Hoe area clearing rubbish left by visitors.

I think the only answer to the litter problem is to increase penalties and somehow detection, maybe CCTV could help, like you, I despair. It'd be interesting to see how many people throughout the country are penalised for dog shit offences, not many I'd guess

Turns my stomach. We have a lake near us and lately people are getting hammered and dumping all sorts of litter in the lake while, before they're pissed, they're cooing over the cygnets gosling's and ducklings.
On a positive , we have a snake made of stones that's about 10metres long and hasn't actually been vandalised yet. No idea how to post a pic but my daughter added a Stoke City stone to it
