Just looked on the app at the "Find visible times" section, and it says "Cancelled" for tonight's 10.34p.m. performance. Anyone shed any light on the reason why/how it could be "Cancelled"?
Have they been shut down for grouping too closely together, breaking cosmic distancing laws?
Well I can confirm that they were "cosmic social distancing" last night Mickmills, my app says we are on for tonight between 8:58 & 9:04 pm but not great visibility and also better viewing at 10:34 pm for 6 minutes! I think Bath was right! ☝🏼🤔😊
Weird....just checked again and now it's updated the 10.34p.m. from "Cancelled" to "May be visible"
West to East...so that's from the Plough direction then?

I think so Mickmills, I am sure someone will correct us if we are wrong👍🏼

Yup, bye bye ground based astronomy. Well it's certainly going to change the way we view the night sky that's for sure and do we really need these? Just read Musk is planning up to 30,000 of the buggers! No, we don't. He's an egomaniac with too much money and not enough sense. He's the type who brought a briefcase to sixth form and quoted statistics at you as to why it's actually better to have no inheritance tax.

What are they even for? I'd read summat a few months back on Reddit where a bunch of folk in Africa were getting all excited 'cos it meant they'd be able have high speed internet or summat? Is that what they're for, internet usage/traffic/whatever?
And when can I (clearly) see them flying over Stoke? (Don't you dare answer Chig, Boooooooo!)

Launch for the next 60 odd has now been brought forward to tomorrow afternoon.
Not sure when we will see them but if it’s in the next couple of days they will appear as a train and be brighter.
Keep checking websites and apps for trajectory and possible sightings over England 👍

I saw them coming over on first full weekend of the pubs being closed on the Friday night 27th March. Being honest I didn't have a clue about Elon and his starlink project at the time so I was stood there watching this continuous procession of lights coming from the horizon thinking what the hell is that. Wouldn't bother go out of my way to see it again, like I said, it's just a continuous procession of lights in the sky, and some would argue its nothing more than sky pollution.

So the next Starlink launch goes ahead today. This should mean that that the second stage rocket and the 60 satellites ( closely grouped at about 180 miles above us on release ) could be visible over the UK around 20.55 - 9.05 if they keep to the schedule and all goes to plan
Having said that, money will dictate the actual launch timings as usual so check your apps and websites for the latest updates as the day goes on.
As before, the launch and landing will be streamed live on YouTube. There’s probably a link but just search SpaceX launch live and today’s date 👍
