My life hit a new low last night, in short I kind of gave up drinking whilst in lockdown due to the fact that the shelves were bare at the time I went looking to stock up and also the concern for my mental health whilst in said lockdown...A neighbour gave me some cans last week and I had a couple last night and something I never thought I would say... It was carling and really nice! There I have said it, please don't judge me😔 Admin ban this man, he likes Carling They did do some corkin' ads, though, Chig!

I did crack last Friday, had a game of ennie meenie miny mo with my rum. Verrrrrry interesting to see that the extra-large bottle with the label saying 'GAY' has had a lot poured out of it, Northy, and it also looks as if there's another full bottle of the same right behind it. That's what I call organised! Barbados mount Gay rum

forgot to get my pussers off the top shelf as well didn't realise I had 11 different types We have a issue with Kraken in our house it goes very quickly even after my boys left home 👍 was quite shocked when my younger brother came to stay last year, he'd never heard of Kraken and really like it, but he is a whisky drinker normally Made a dark and stormy with the kraken as found a bottle of ginger beer at the back I didn't know I'd had and we had a lime in

I think for me this weekend it will have to be Dead Pony Club this weekend. God anyone who doesn't know what that is must be thinking all sorts about me now 😂 Elvis Juice for me, but a quake quencher to get the ball rolling. I’m also partial to a hazy Jane and a clockwork tangerine but you can’t go wrong with a punk. Check out their website, some decent “bundle” offers on at the moment

Just resurrecting this thread.
Today I’ve tried Dragonsoop, on recommendation from my brother. It’s well known as a drink with a high volume content at 8% per 500ml and also a very high caffeine content of 35mg per 100ml, about the same as your average energy drink (it’s basically a glorified alcoholic energy drink).
Decided to give two flavours a go. Blue raspberry and orange and passion fruit. Blue raspberry tastes like a shitter WKD. The orange one is quite nice and fruity. Definitely feel more awake thanks to the caffeine content but this is not something to shout home about, and at £2.99 per can at RRP is a bit of a swizz. Would absolutely recommend no more than two thanks to its caffeine. I can see why some teens were turning into ‘zombies’ with it thanks to its energy drink style flavour. A boring but very dangerous drink. Certainly not worth the internet hype. 4/10.

Had a day on the apples yesterday, just to add a little variety to the drinking.
I used to enjoy a bottle or three of Westons Extra Dry, but nobody seems to sell it anymore.

I'm still off the sauce since last August, can you believe. Nary a drop has passed me rubies. 'Taint fair!

The Westons Extra Dry was spot on for my palate. Incidentally have you ever tried "Looney Soup", which is a Perry and a bloody good laxative too.

Barbados mount Gay rum Back in the day, late nineties. They did a 10 Year Old which was perfect when sipping it neat. Back in the day, late nineties, there were two similar bottled drinks - I'm not sure if they'd be classed as alcopops, but you just drank them as they were & didn't put a mixer in them. They don't seem to be on the market now, so must have been discontinued some time ago, which is a pity as they were deeelish. One was called V2 and the other was Metz. I think the V2 must have been vodka-based, going by its name, so maybe Metz was, as well, unless it was gin-based - neither had an obvious spirit flavour. The thing was that they were a gorgeous drink, served icy-cold, and were light, extremely refreshing, quite sweet, and deeelish - and seemingly innocent. But they had hidden depths. For the first 3/4 of the way down them they seemed like just a pleasant, refreshing drink, with no real alcohol content at all, but then when you'd had 3/4 of the bottle - all of a sudden, POW - it was a bit like getting a smack in the head! I wish they'd reintroduce them, because with the huge rise in popularity of gin over the last 2 or 3 years I'm sure they'd go down a storm. I wonder if any of your good lady other-halves can remember them?

Well I've never had Smirnoff Ice, Timbo, but the description 'alcoholic cloudy lemonade' sounds pretty accurate, although 'lemonade' wouldn't have occurred to me - but you could be right! Thanks for that!

Home brewing some alcoholic ginger beer even as we type. Never tried it so just two one litre bottles to start. Can see this becoming a bit of a new thing.
