Dickinson was an absolute liabity. That game was the turning point as we were in shocking form Great mental when lenny scored. Seemed to remember it spilt onto the track bit around the pitch. I came away thinking that was the turning point for us.

I came away thinking that was the turning point for us. I got on a plane during the first half ...didn't get the result until the next day. Thought we'd totally blown promotion and got the full time result I think was at Manila airport. Was a massive result like you said as Bristol City were looking a bit good at the time

Another belter of a game. One of my proudest moments as a Stoke supporter came during this game. After Etherington had just missed the penalty, Stoke won a corner on the right hand side of the Boothen. Because of the miss and in such an important match for us, Etherington must have been dreading going over to take the corner. However, to a person, everyone gave him standing ovation as he approached the corner flag. Absolute class reaction from the Stokies.

One of the very best signings in recent years.

Dickinson was an absolute liabity. That game was the turning point as we were in shocking form Glen Johnson was a liability in his last ten or twenty games. Kevin Wimmer was a liability. And an expensive one. Carl Dickinson was an average/limited player with a heart bigger than 99% of other professional players. He was a big part of our promotion and defying the odds to stay in the Prem. He was definitely not a liability. For every mistake he made he more than made up for it with dedication, determination and character.

I never doubted his heart, fantastic attitude but he played no part whatsoever in us staying in the Prem. His performance at Arsenal was as bad as have seen at that level and was dropped and loaned out after 3 or 4 games

He saw limited game time but having players like him on the bench or even in training had a positive impact on the rest of the squad.

Incredible match. What a lot of talent we had in the side in that side. I'll never forget the delayed reaction for Shaqiri's goal before half time. It wasn't until the PA announced it that we knew it went in. I thought his celebration was him kicking off at the linesman for something. Good times indeed.
