Gets all the flak but he got us the three points along with Campbell.
The others hung on to it.
He also did a lot of tracking back.

I’ve been Tom Ince’s biggest critic but tonight he ran his knackers off and created the goal👍

Against Boro and Fulham he was putting the work in too like tonight so it’s no surprise tbh. Glad it paid off for him.
Lovely goal though from all 3 all players involved where I don’t expect any other player we have to make the pass/finish those 3 did for their part.

Glad that he did well. Great ball to Campbell. I won’t get carried away though!

Got given a chance and has done something with it. Worked hard but the pass for the goal was what we’ve been wanting from him, chased it, won it and then worked on instinct.

I think Ince has generally worked hard, it's his refusal to take his fullback on that does my head in.

He actually played well- not bad for his 21st game. I’m pretty sure the thread title is factually incorrect but yes, it’s a massive improvement on the rest of his season.

I’m sorry but he was lucky for the goal, although right place right time. Zero headers won Barely a tackle, although did track back but apart from twice was chasing shadows. Offered nothing when both teams had throw-ins. Didn’t mark anyone. Bang in the middle of all the players prancing round like a pony.
Is he scared of the ball???

Hopefully that bit of luck he had with the assist is a turning point for him.

I'm not a fan of Ince but that's rubbish, he was great tonight. Worked really hard from the go and should keep his place easily.

I was sat watching with some West Brazil lads, they were bitching about the goal saying ‘look at fucking mince, he turns his back on the clearance like a coward and it bounces off him back into his path!’.
I had to ask ‘are you sure you’re not Stoke fans?’🤣

[/quote Have to say I agree with you he was awful. The win clouds what he really is a show pony lazy bottle merchant. Hes two seconds behind the match and reacts to it accordingly two seconds late. He bottles ever header and tackle. Really is a liability and gives nothing going forward. Got lucky with the assist as well and the 6’5 Egyptian mummy had done him for pace.

Yes, he did ok tonight, just wished though, he had more confidence in taking his fullback on, instead of looking to pass back to smith, or losing the ball, then having to track back, to try and retreave it, but yes he worked hard, as did all the stoke players, so well done all.

He doesn't touch the ball, especially 2nd half, effort was there and desire to create the goal ( even if it was lucky).

Ince got lucky with the goal, he did back off from making a challenge and was lucky that the inept clearance bounced right for him. Thankfully he decided to pass rather than shoot, as I’m sure we’d still be looking for the ball somewhere on the M5. The rest of the game was the usual strutting around trying to make it look like he’s contributing and putting in challenges. As for winning the game....... I think it’s a bit of a slur on the MOTM performance from Batth, who I’m sure many will agree was the main reason we won tonight.

Gets all the flak but he got us the three points along with Campbell. The others hung on to it. He also did a lot of tracking back. He’s tracked back all season to be fair to him. He doesn’t really shirk defensive responsibilities, though he doesn’t like getting stuck in. He does need to make himself more direct going forward, but if he can rely on balls through from Powell like that one, he will get back to good form.

Better from Ince but for Christ sake he’s put effort in. That’s the bare minimum expected. Is he good enough though?
